I thought it might be interesting to see who the folks are who frequent this particular sub-forum. Are you a long-time Spyderco fan or are you new to the brand?

I’ve carried one variant or another of the PM2 for about 10 years. My favorite and most carried knife. Big fan of the Mule series also.

I think my first Spyderco was purchased in or about 2000 or 2001 ... can't remember the model ... it was a small FRN model that my ex actually liked and it ended up in her purse within a few weeks instead of my pocket.

I picked up a Worker at a local gun show back when they first came out.
I probably met Sal and company and didn't know it.
Anyway, I had a goal of owning or handling every Spyderco model and came really close until they started fetching big prices.
I own a few these days and my new 4V Manix is capitalizing 100% of pocket time these days.
Keep it up Spyderco.

My first Spyderco was an Endura model that I purchased new back in the very early 90's. It had the plastic molded pocket clip and a G2 stainless serrated blade. I wish I still had it but I lost it somewhere.

I registered on the Spyderco forums (Freediver) in July of 2009, and pretty sure I got my first one before that so about 9-10 years now.

My first good knife was a green endura 4. Not including a buck I got for my bar mitzvah 110 my father stole from me. I’m not sure how long ago I got this endura and I may have actually had a Blur before that. I think I got the endura first though.

Does anyone know what year the Endura 4 was released?

Got a Harpy in about 95/96 and loved it. Spyderco is a cornerstone brand for me although I have found a few other favorites as well.

Bought my first one (digi cam PM2) in June. I was instantly hooked. I have a Maxamet and a 20CV in the mail yet too.

Well I'm just an old guy with an old dlc coated police I've been carrying since the very early nineties if I remember correctly. It has a fully serrated edge and has held up quite well considering it has cut pvc pipe, tree limbs, copper wire, and what ever else that needed cutting while working a construction job.

That's the only spyderco I've ever owned or carried and it has served me well and still does to this day. A lot of the dlc coating is worn but a lot of it is still intact. The only problem I've had is the little pivot letting the blade get a little loose, but I can tighten it back up with a little pressure.

It would be nice if Spyderco would put a nice pivot in the police like the newer non police models but just thin it down abit. Anyway I still like and carry my old police daily after all these years. I wouldn't mind a new spyderco knife with some cruwear and a nice metal handle of some type, or another g2 dlc coated police from the early nineties. ;)

I've only been at this knife thing since 2012. I got my first spydie the following year. It was actually my first 2 Spydies since I ordered both the plain jane Manix 2 and a blacked out Tenacious. I've acquired many more since and Spyderco is easily my favorite maker.

I'll be 70 this month & carried nothing but traditionals until about 20 years ago when I bought a Benchmade Griptillian. That was my first modern folder. I got my first Spyderco when I joined the Forums here & it's been downhill ever since.

Guess it was about '96 or '97 to the best of my recollection...around the same time I started picking up some of Benchmade's offerings. Then it was on to custom knives and seesawing back and forth between custom and production over the intervening years...

I don't remember the year I bought my first ones at a gun show. The Delica and Endura were new to the market at the time. Picked up a Sharpmaker at the same time since I bought serrated blade Delica and wanted a way to sharpen it. Lost the Delica within a few weeks but went to another gun show a few months later and bought an Endura. Had to have been over 26 years ago. I've been married 26 years and I had owned the Endura for several years prior to that.

According to spydercosource.com, which seems to be a great source for info, the Endura 4 was first offered in 2006. I'm not sure how accurate the site is, but given the level of detail about the knives, I'm inclined to believe what I see there. Here is a link to the Enduras:

I actually used that page to date when I got my first knife, which was a "Q" with a solid, fully serrated blade of ATS-34 I believe. Only the handle was carved out. I still have that one!

Awesome! We all know you could do a whole lot worse when it comes to choices in life!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

GREAT replies here, folks. Keep 'em coming!

My first was an AUS8 Delica with a molded clip, sometime back in the early 90s. Frankly, it did not impress me and I moved on for several years. Then my girlfriend's father gave me an article about VG-10 steel and Spyderco starting to use it, and I began looking into them again. My accumulation of Spydies got out of control when another company released a knife whose name meant "to annoy".

Here's an image taken some years ago. I still have three, (Military, Starmate, Dragonfly), the others have either been sold or gifted to others.
