I don't really consider myself a collector, though I have accumulated quite a few Spydercos over the years. I got my first, an AUS-8 Delica with integral FRN pocket clip, in 1997.

If still sort of deny being a collector because I don't care about their value, I use them all and there is no rhyme or reason to my purchasing decisions. That said, I have been at this long enough to have hoarded a rediculous number of knives.

It's a slippery slope, all right:D. Picked up a Mule in 20CV and a paring knife at the Factory Store in Golden a year ago, then a Para 2 in S30V, a Military in S110V, and this week a Native 5 Lightweight in S35Vn. Eyeing the pink handled Natives for some Christmas gifts. Spydies are weird... in a very good way.

I hate calling it a collection but at 40 or 50 spyderco's I kinda have to. Lol.

I don't recall the exact year but it was around the time benchmade lost their minds with pricing and enforcing MAP.

My first was a zdp-189 dragonfly. After that these ugly knives grew on me to where now I think most are beautiful.

I’ve never been a big fan of buying foreign made knives, so my first Spyderco was a Military in the late 90s. At the time it felt flimsy to me compared to my Benchmade so I sold it. I did like the CPM T440V blade steel, it was ahead of its time! Wish I had kept that knife now! I finally broke down and bought my second Spyderco a couple of years ago, Gayle Bradley. I still didn’t like buying non American. So after almost a 20 year gap of not buying Spydercos, the quality of that GB1 released the Spydie flood gates and I have many now! Can’t deny the quality and innovation, still wish they were all made in the US though.

Picked up a Endura from we be knifes on pier 39 in San franciso in 1996. I still have it ( although it is pretty abused) along with about 30 other Spyders, my favorite currently is the mili. The CF/TI s90v is my most carried. I really like the different steels they offer, and I simply love that Sal is present on the forums. Great company, I am planning on a visit to golden CO next year! Oh yeah and the knifes currently on my list are the Mili Rex 45, and the paysan.

Love my Spydies !
Spyderco was my first real Knife :)
Back in 2001 I believe and it was a Wayne Goddard light weight .
I lost the knife shortly after getting it and kept the empty box to this day as a reminder of my Negligence lol .

I just found an inventory list I started when I bought my first spyderco, a cricket in February 2007.

My first Spyderco was a left hand serrated Executive in 1983 or so. I still have it. The store also had a lefty Co Pilot that I didn't buy. I was not impressed with the brass lined Co Pilot, it was not very smooth opening. Several others over the years, including a lefty Terzuola C15 that was a stellar knife.

Almost a year to the day.

I feel like a newbie, but I just started getting into knives recently. :p

I have bought 13 Spydercos and 4 Byrds in the last year, so at least my Spyderco buying frequency has been pretty aggressive.

Started around 95-96 buying spyderco from rei back when rei carried spyderco. I believe I bought a serrated delica in their blurple frn with integrated clip way back when.

Hey Sal, you should offer that original blue purple color on the frn models again!!

Purchased a SE Endura 1 (Aus8) around 1990 as I was roping/rappelling and operating around boats a lot.
Only this year decided I better get a few more so been buying used ones on eBay etc as original one don't want to lose.

And of course joined forums and started buying / wanting others.

Just purchased a Pacific Salt SE.

Really wanting to find a Catcherman.
