Spyderco Delica was one of my first real knives (as opposed to gas station garbage) that I got 3-4 years ago. Was my work knife for about a year, and it has traveled with me for about 100 miles of hiking through the desert in Nevada, Utah, and California, to the mountains of West Virginia & Virginia and the last hike and the last time it was carried was in the Florida pan handle during the spring. It's also lasted 2 runs through the washer, found each time before hitting the dryer. Retired it because the clip broke on it one day when I got into my car :(

Whats that second one from the top? It checks most of my favorite design boxes.

That's the "Wegner Jr." which was a very highly regarded knife, especially among hunters.

My good friend, Jerry Halfrich, a knife maker of some renown in San Marcos, TX always said it was his favorite knife. (He had lost his own during a hunting trip he led up in AK if I recall correctly.)

I sent that knife to him as a gift some years back as a way of thanking him for his friendship and generosity.

The micarta handled Calypso Jr. is one I gifted my brother in law and that is one I missed for a good while.

My first Spyderco knife was the Sage 1, and I believe I got that when I first joined this forum, or possibly even before. That knife quickly made me a Spyderco fan for my modern folder needs. I loved how well it cut, how nice it felt in hand and how useful the Spydie hole was. Between the FFG, choil and lack of thumb stud for easy sharpening, it felt like new ground. Thanks Spyderco!

Started gifting them before collecting/using them, then that fu’hecking Endura drew me into the abyss!

My buddy carried a stainless handled delica since the late 90s/early 2000s and always raved bout it. I always thought that Spydies were hideous looking. Probably what always seemed to be an odd ratio of a lot of handle to not a lot of blade. When the PM2 came out I was like “whats all the fuss about??”

Tried one and was hooked. I wanted a bigger spyderco and bought a Military. Its really all I have carried since. I have about 10 millies.

Turns out that the FFG and the blade:handle ratio is what makes them so friggen good. Oh yeah and the SpyderHole just works.

I’ve been a big fan for almost 30 years! Time flies. The Police model was my very first one.

I owned a Delica in SE when that was the only way you could find one in the wild <seemed like>...

had volcano texturing and integral clip...can't remember the steel, it for sure wasn't VG10 maybe ATS or AUS...can't recall correctly. Whatever it was it cut for my uses forever and it got "lost" in the sawdust at a cabinet shop I worked at in college....I still think it got picked up by my boss when I was using it to score planks and laid it down for a minute.

bought it in a mall at Cutlery World...it's been a while back obviously.

Man, 5 long-timers so far.:thumbsup::thumbsup: You guys have been carrying/collecting Spydercos for longer than some others here have been alive. I'm not too far behind. God willing, I've got plenty of years ahead of me hopefully.:p

I got my first, a Worker, at a gun show in Kansas back in the mid to late 80s. Whoever was selling them, Sal Himself maybe, was showing me how to hold on to the hole and then flick the knife down to open it. I was young enough that I didn't have my own money and I just begged and pleaded until my mom relented and bought me that Worker.

I treasured that knife, but not enough. I loaned it to a buddy in around 2003 or so and I never saw it again. I'm still very sore about it and I have spent many a wistful moment regretting that loan.

Thankfully, I still have my early molded clip Endura. That knife was my steadfast companion in the early 90s and we had many adventures together.

Currently loving my Caly Jr in Superblue.

Bought my 1st Spyderco (Harpy) in 1987. Didn't carry it much though. Picked up a Delica 1 in the early 90s and have had one version or another ever since.

2012 started with a tenacious now I'm about 50+ . most of them are PM2 Delicas and Endura .

...plain jane Manix 2 and a blacked out Tenacious...

First two was a Manix 2 DLC & a blacked Tenacious too. As inexpensive as that Tenacious was, I still think about that knife to this day.

Then I put my PM2 in my hand & I forget about that...what was it called again?

I sold both my Manix and the blacked out Tenacious, but later repurchased both in different configurations (standard satin/black Tenacious and M4 Manix). I actually think about my Tenacious, I sold it for downsizing but now have a job where it would come in use, plus the flicking was fun.

Funny enough I also have a PM2 but it was a modded user when I received it, and it just doesn't have that wow factor for me. Maybe a brand new one would.

A little over three years.
Started with a Dragonfly in ZDP-189.
Still have it; still love it.
These were my first "Modern" folders that I started with. Before that it was Buck lock backs and SAKs. (I've had the same 110 for more than thirty five years).

Here's The Little Dragon with his pals "Back in The Day".

I did the same thing. A new PM2? So many to choose from...hmmm.

After seeing them in various catalogs, I finally got my first one (Calypso Jr Ltwt) in late 2002 or early 2003.
