how low can you go... your favorite, cheapest, high value folder?

For ultra value, I like my Opinel #8. Very thin edge and grind, slices better than just about anything else.

For a little more expensive, but still relatively inexpensive with great performance, Buck Vantage Pro and Kershaw Skyline.

Case and Eye Brand sodbusters are good, too.

Cold Steel Kudu. $5.99 shipped.

No matter what I throw at it, it keeps coming back for more.
I agree, The only problems that I have had with mine is the little nub that the ring is attached to bending and quite a bit of play. Easy to get freakin, ungodly sharp and holds it's edge for a respectable amount of time.

Kershaw Speedbump G10
Spyderco Tenacious
Stanley Folder with throw away blades.

buck 110, got it as a hand me down from my pops

but if I had to choose one I bought it would either be this cheapo silver gypsy bud k knife I bought back in high school . I beat it up and I still have it today as a reminder of when I started collecting knives

I can and will say that it is the most perfect $35 Kershaw knife I've ever had. I love everything about it. You guys will really dig the knife too.

I have carried the black model that I bought from Kershawguy almost non-stop since I got it. It's the perfect size and weight for me.

First - I´m more the friend of traditional knives ... :)

So here are my two types of cheap, but great knives...

Opinel (doesn´t matter if Carbon or Stainless)
SAK (Victorinox or Wenger)

I have Opinels and a 40 year old Buck 110 that I bought for $10 from a pawn shop, but none of those get carried. The knives that I'll have with me are my slim SAKs - executive, cadet, electrician - and I'll often use them instead of the small Sebenza Insingo that I also carry.

It's odd for me to see the Cold Steel Voyager coming up in this list. When I bought mine, fifteen to twenty years ago, they were in the hundred-dollar range - and were the most expensive knives that I owned for at least a decade.

Tenacious, Enlan EL-01, Rat 1.. All great workers, but I do tend to carry the higher end stuffs..

I always carry a locking knife in my right pocket, and have no really inexpensive one's.
But I also often carry a small yellow Derlin CV Case Copperlock(paid $30), or a SAK Alox Cadet(paid $21).

I carried a Schrade CH7 ($10 or $15) for over 15 years. I still miss the awesome quick-release lanyard thingy.

Opinel #8, if you shop around you can find one at or under $10. I've also picked up a Rat 1 for $20, a Svord peasant for around $15.

Gerber Gator, LST and Magnum LST are among my favorite. Still hunt with a Gator. It's my #1 camp knife. Case caliber lockback. They're along the same lines as an LST. Buck medium trapper. Buck 442 Bucklite.

I just recently found mine in a toolbox..minus the quick release lanyard..a great knife ! I also really like my Spyderco Persistence and my Opinel #7 ($11).

- Vic Super Tinker - ~$20 when I got mine (nowadays, it's closer to $25) - a lot of utility packed into a pretty compact knife
- Sanrenmu 763 - ~$10 - small, lightweight, compact, and well made. Plus, it's got a bottle opener incorporated into the tang / blade stop
- Ontario RAT-1 - ~$30 - very solidly built larger folder
- Enlan EL-01 - ~$12 - another solid larger folder
