How many at once?

Usually have two - one non-locking traditional under four inches and one locking under four inches. I don't do anything anymore that requires too much effort and don't wear heavy work pants but rather light duty Wranglers; therefore, no heavy, big, knives required. A XX47 Stockman and a 501 Squire is plenty. Of course that's not set in stone.

I had been carrying 3 daily for a year or longer. A 84 mm sak, a modern oho folder and a largish traditional. Usually a stockman or trapper pattern. Sometimes during outdoor activities I would add a fixed blade. If I’m honest carrying 4 knives seemed silly and unnecessary.
So for the last week or so I’ve been carrying two everyday. One of the modern oho Swiss Army knives and a traditional. I think maybe this is going to work for me and lighten the load a little.
I’ll still add a fixed blade when appropriate but that’s not really part of my edc.

I have a minimum of two on me. I carry a SAK Farmer X daily and either another traditional or a modern folder. Most days I have either a small fixed blade or a modern folder added to the two tradionals.

When working outdoors or hunting birds or small game it's usually four, adding both a small fixed blade and modern folder to the two traditionals.

The most I carry is when hunting whitetail or larger game. I'll carry four, the SAK, another traditional, a modern folder, and a fixed blade on my person. Then in my pack I carry another fixed blade hunter, a dedicated skinner, a caping knife, and a boning knife. If in the mountains a chopper and a folding saw are strapped to my pack as well.

I started carrying the extras in the pack after having a blade break while field dressing an elk and having to finish the job with a small Sebenza and the Farmer X. I've also had a fixed blade get pulled out of a sheath on a hunt in thick brush and had to back track in the dark with a flashlight to find it.

Just one knife for me. Anything with a punch/awl on workdays. When I’m not at work anything goes but it’s always just one knife.
I used to carry a second small folder on my key chain but I took it off about a month ago because it was on there for 3 years and never got used once.

Generally 1 modern folder and 1 slip joint folder. This is my true "every day" carry. I've been trying to add a fixed blade on the weekends, but have not warmed up to it fully yet. About half the time I still go for the folder so I don't have to work the fixed back into the sheath. I can manipulate the folder and get it back in the pocket without even looking. And none of my daily tasks require the reliability of a fixed blade really.

Hunting I could have 3 knives on my person + 2 more in my pack, but these are for short walks or stand hunting. Nothing back country where weight is a factor.

My basic EDC is a 91mm SAK, a Vic Executive, and a traditional slipjoint in carbon steel that I can use to cut apples to develop patina. It also depends on whether I’m wearing jeans or slacks. If I’m wearing slacks, I often leave the 91mm SAK out. Here’s what I have in my jeans today: IMG_6304.jpeg

Several have mentioned that those around you may need a knife for a job. Do you lend them the knife, or do you cut it for them?
I'm very hesitant to hand someone a knife of mine when they don't carry their own, so I usually offer to cut it for them.
I cut for them no matter who they are.
I'll give them a knife, but won't let them use mine.

2 to 3
Two traditional & a multi tool or sak. I could probably get away with less but I like to use the knives given by by BF friends and I have a few 🤩
When I go anywhere usually just a small sak like cadet, mini champ and or small traditional.
In regards to others using my knife. I don’t advertise but there are people that I will lend to Mum has asked for it more than once, can’t say no to your mother. My brother I will lend to. My wife and eldest just get me to cut.
The youngest is miss independent and just helps herself, knows how to use traditional and modern folders, has been telling since she was about 14 or 15 it’s her collection 🫣👀 she is 20 next month.

I should mention that at work belt knives are a no-go if I was carrying one for the week so it stays home.

This leaves me with my pocket knife just so I don't feel naked, then my Milwaukee utility knife, safety cutter, and blade on my Leatherman that's only occasionally used a few times a year.

Now that I'm retired, four.

SAK Rambler on my key ring.
SAK small tinker someplace on my person. (I wear cargo pants most of the time. Cell phone in one pocket, tinker in the other.)
Traditional knife of the day in my right pocket
Something unmentionable in my right rear pocket

Because I can.

I have 3 or 4 usually. I carry an SAK Manager on my work keys, a Buck 307 in my right front pocket, a CS Tuff lite in my left front pocket that I use as a money clip, and a folding utility knife clipped to my right front pocket for cutting boxes, etc.
When I'm not working, I will have an SAK in my pocket for the scissors, a fixed blade or a modern OHO clipped to my right front pocket, and the money clip in my left pocket, and a pew pew AIWB.
I will gladly cut something for someone, but I don't give my knife to anyone.

Almost always my fattest SAK on my belt and a 4" stockman in my pocket. Usually a lambsfoot in addition, Sometimes a jack or two, sometimes an additional stockman or two. A nylon Irish Imperial jack if I think there's any danger of having to share.
Just the nylon jack if I'm paranoid about being in a weapons-free zone.
Sometimes a modern flipper.
I had six traditionals in my RFP at church a few weeks ago, but that's unusual.
