Ok guys so realizing that I've gone beyond the point of general interest and am well into the obsession level of liking Beckers, I'm curious to see into my future a bit and see what others have amounted to.
Right now I have:
BK 2
BK 11 with micarta scales
BK 11 Serrated with the tan sheath
BK 14 older roll stamped version (was cord wrapped, waiting on scales in the mail)
BK 17
Most have been modded a little in various ways, but with the exception of the serrated BK 11, all of them get the spines ground for use with a ferro rod.
and I'm currently in the process of working towards owning one of each model (have been looking for a Brute at the right price for a while now)
I currently have 4
BK 7
BK 9
BK 16
BK 2-2
I will no doubt be buying more at some later date...
It's all Chris Tanner's fault! ($&@&!!!!)
Yeah, good blades (but to be honest not too wild on the o'l BK 2-2, thick blade but skeletonized tang? And 2 inches short of epic,)
if i were you, i'd keep that parang
More than I need, fewer than I will have and not as many as I want.Never specifically counted before. Had to check my inventory lists. I've given away 9 more than are listed here.

I think zzyzzogeton wins.
Oh, no. bladite, guyon, ethan and several others have way more than I do.
Just one: a BK-5, it arrived yesterday, and I'm in love.
Not sure what's next...but There Will Be Many.
The BK2 is epic in it's own way....and a little easier to carry than the 3 pound knife it would be if it were bigger. Skeletonized tang? Still is pretty indestructible most of the time. If you don't do anything....ill-advised, let's say, it will still last a lifetime. If you need something longer, you can use your 7 or your 9. Personally, while I don't care much for the 7, I still own one....though it's modded heavily. Now, I love it.
I compare the BK 2-2 to the British MOD knife, (the BK 2 looks like a shorter but better made version of the MOD) to me 7 inches is the sweet spot for heavy usage, I was hoping the 2 inch difference would not be an issue, but when it comes to batoning it is noticeable, as for the tang, I understand that earlier models of the BK 2 were in full tang?, I would have preferred that, and while a skeletonized tang is better than a stick tang (which could also last a life time) it's never going to have the durability of full tang, sure any tang could last a life time, (given optimal conditions) but a full tang will take more abuse,
(I'm currently messing with a Ontario RD Tanto, incredibly tough knife (5160 spring steel, 1/4 inch thick, full tang just under 7 inches, weighs a ton, really bad craftsmanship, which is a shame, but there is still a good knife in there)
I value durability in my knives, I want to know no matter how much abuse I put the knife through it will still be there, (within realistic, but extreme use and abuse)
The only advantage of the thickness of the BK 2 is in the extra weight in chopping,
Woulda scored more for durability for full tang, woulda scored more for a longer blade (but that could just be me)
With the options I have of other blades, the BK 2 is on early retirement, (not a bad knife, just not my knife)
I know it's a fan favorite, it just doesn't click with me, sorry LOL
Open to ideas, always looking, I prefer 7 inches, and thick stock, etc,
Still looking, every knife has it's con's and pro's,
Of the Beckers, I'd say the 7, (looks like a large type 40 scaple blade crossed with a shark)
It is a great knife, it's often referred to as "The little black dress" of the Becker blades. My preference is the BK16.
Oh and welcome to the forum.

Now that I think of it, I can't recall any pics of Ethan's collection - that has got to be sweet (not to mention some very cool prototypes and preproductions I would assume)
