how many do u carry?

I carry two. One 3-4" blade for general purpose and a Spyderco ladybug hawkbill for skinning wire and itty bitty stuff. Today I've got the endura, but often I'll choose large sebenza, umnumzaan, manix 2 etc. But I always pair a larger folder with my ladybug.

I work HVAC so I've got plenty of pliers, files, wire strippers etc. Instead of a multi tool, but on the weekends I usually have a Gerber or Leatherman multi tool in my back pack or somewhere in the truck.

Are you carrying too much? I think you're the only one who should answer that question. Your money, your body, your stuff :) Do what you want cause you can :p

Lately I've been carrying a slipjoint in my right back pocket and a leatherman ps4 in my watchpocket.

I usually carry four, plus a Swisstool.

I carry my primary folder, which varies from day to day depending on my activity/attire, in my right front pocket.

In my left front I carry a Karambit, reverse grip. It used to be always an Emerson Super Karambit, but after concerns with it opening in pocket while carrying reverse grip, I switched to a Brous because of the strong detent of a flipper. Now that Emerson makes a flipper, I'll likely try that out at some point.

Then, in the corners of my back pockets, I carry a pair of Dragonflys (one serrated). These add alot of utility to my EDC, and due to their small size go virtually unnoticed until needed.

I like to wear pants that have designated knife pockets (Vertx Delta, Tru-Spec 24/7), but instead of clipping knives in them I use those pockets to carry my Swisstool and flashlight (Surefire Aviator).

Just the one, in a pocket.

Occasionally I mistakenly carry two because I forget that I dropped a clipless knife in a pocket and, without thinking, clip another one on.

One, but I've been contemplating either downgrading or carrying a second, since I don't trust my co-workers with my knives. And I'd feel less bad if a RAT gets screwed up than one of my ZT's.
Knives are just sharp screwdrivers to non-knifeknuts, my man. Buy the work beater

Recently I got lucky and acquired a Carothers EDC2 and discovered how nice it is to carry a small fixed blade daily. Before that, I carried a folder in my strong side pocket for many years.
Now I can reach into my pocket for keys without needing to work around my clipped folder. I can also avoid my wife’s displeasure which inevitably followed after I tore up the corner of many a pocket in my suit pants.
However, I miss having a small folder for cutting things in a polite social setting. I never hesitated to take out a (non-automatic) folder no matter where I needed to cut something. I’ve been thinking I should remove the clip from my well used and very sharp aluminum clad Kershaw Leek and carry it for those times when tender sensitivities may be offended.
So, maybe carrying two is just right.

I carry two. ALWAYS have a SAK Alox Cadet thrown in with my keys for the tools and to abuse. The knife blade is used infrequently but the tools are wonderful to get stuff done and to protect my other knife. It's also useful if someone wants to borrow a knife.

2nd knife is a modern one handed opening folder with a clip. For the last 8 months or so it's been primarily the Spyderco GB2 but there are a few other options as well.

I highly recommend the Alox Cadet. It's so small you don't know you are carrying it but it's very tough and useful. The screw drivers are wonderful for screws, prying and lots of other miscellaneous tasks.

Four knives? Why? I know I know, as a knife nut I shouldn't ask, but that seems overkill. I get carrying a smaller and a larger one, or a cheaper and more expensive one, or maybe a serrated and non-serrated. Have a bit of a combo. But four knives? It seemed redundant to me, especially having two non serrated blades already, adding a third. No offense but I can't for the life of me think of a situation where having that much steel on you makes practical sense. But please, do elaborate, maybe I learn something. :)

I'm not sure why I carry that many, I guess now it's just a habit when I grab my things before I go anywhere they just automatically get put in my pockets, I like having more than one sharp blade on me but I rarely have a need for more than one knife so I'll probably scale down a bit since I have other edc's (9mm small flashlight, wallet) I carry, I guess I just like them alot

Main EDC folder in my right front pocket..slip joint on my keychain.
I'm in earthquake country and with so many little ones lately, big one is coming so, thinking about my small pocket flashlight too.

If you don't trust your co-workers, do not loan them your knife.
Carry a Gerber EAB as a loaner knife.

99% of the time I carry one folder. However.

On my day off today, just enjoying life and its these two.

If anything exciting happens or work. Remove the Ti lock for safe keeping and throw in the AFOII. Dozier strong side front pocket :)

in summer i carry a multitool in my backpack and a folder and SAK(or second SAK) in my jean pockets.
in winter i carry a multitool in my backpack, a SAK and a multitool in my coat pocket and 2 folders in my jeans.

You guys add a lot of weight on a daily basis.

doesn't bother me at all.
i'm 1.90m 90kg myself, the backpack is about 5kg and clothes 2-3kg. so adding 500-800 grams worth of knives i don't even notice.

No offense taken my friend. And honestly, although I have and will state my reasons, the real reason is simply because I enjoy carrying them. It started when I discovered the Emerson Karambit and decided to add it to my EDC. Besides the obvious practicality of the Karambit as a last resort self-defense blade (I'm not a knife fighter and hope to never be), I found it to be a useful addition for various tasks. For example, when cutting cord or rope on something I have tied down in the back of my truck. I can pull the chord taut with my right hand, and then wave out my Karambit in my left and quickly make the cut. As for the Dragonfly, those are so small that I seriously never even notice them in my pocket. I only carry them when I wear pants that have a pocket flap, and they disappear right into the velcro closure. Obviously the one is for when I want a serrated blade, whereas the other is for tasks where I might gunk up my nicer primary folder.

Exactly. When im hibernating at 210. 5'9-3/4. ;) An extra 4oz does nothing. But unless im working i carry my knife or two, wallet and phone. Thats it. My bag or lunch bag holds all the junk.
