I'd been pullin gthem off for years and didn't know either until the one let me knowBeautiful pics Jason, thanks for showin' 'em.
I didn't know they bit though,I never got bit by one as a kid,but then I never poked one with a knife either.![]()
Oh yeah,I remember the green crap all over my hands from accidentally squishing 'em.I'd been pullin gthem off for years and didn't know either until the one let me knowAnother side note, they make GREAT catfish bait. Just be careful putting them on the hook, they sometimes pop and squirt green crap all over the place.
Thanks GRUNT SOLDIER for the kind words sir...
Actually if the worm had eggs on it's back it was probably the eggs of a parasitic wasp. They eventually kill the worm but not before the worm eats your whole plantI found one of those tomato worms on my "Big Mama" plant yesterday (its an heirloom tomato called "Mr. Stripey" but the plant is 7' tall and by far the biggest I have grown or seen). The worm was covered with white eggs (eekkkk!!!!). Straight to the fire pit with you and your eggs wormey!
After I looked back at this thread and read the "if you find one there are a dozen more" comment I was outside with my Fenix scouring all the plants. I did only see the one and I hope I stopped the dozen more in the form of the eggs. Man, in the pic that worm was actually kind of cool looking...covered in eggs it was completely gross!!!!!!

I have about an 2 Acres planted with Maters - Onions - Sweet Corn - Peppers and all the goodies we like and eat a lot of when not in season and enjoy it more when I plant and grow it plus give more away than I eat.! My closest neighbor and a few others really like me in the summer.!*** lol
Maybe a bit off topic but I went out to water my Chile Pequin's, Jalapenos and Serrano's yesterday and noticed that half of my Pequin bush was gone! a quick look and I found seven of these little thieves:

I put them all in a bowl and placed it under the bird feeder. I actually enjoyed watching the Grackles much on them...
