How many knives, do you own?

At the last count I had 63 folders & 41 fixed plus a Strider that should arrive any day now.

I still find more I could buy everyday.

Wow, I'm impressed with these numbers! This group is keeping the factories in production single handedly! Since I'm not allowed to count inventory, my personal using knife stash is at 49. I'm on the verge of comandeering a Benchmade 850 Mel Pardue to user status, though. I suppose I should just go ahead and say 50. Take care.

57 pieces, 34 fixed and the rests folds. Not nearly enough though. It's just a shame that it takes buying a lot of knives to know what the best knife is.

Pk, whats the ish? Is that 900ish? your wife was watchin,
biggrin.gif
....You see we can show our wives that we need more, cause my meer 36, needs to be 56,ahhaha.
Now Ken I want you to keep those babies exercised! Regularly push those buttons.

639 seems to be tops, but Kodiak and Bob Irons, just don't know. Or atleast they are not saying.
Hey tknife, you could have your own blade show

Carry it and use it.. I need more now, cause its ok..The addition is relevent to the number of fixes?

I'm with Waldo on this one -- haven't counted & don't want to so I can truthfully answer, "I'm not sure."

With the proliferation of black-handled folders, I generally get away with the "hide in plain sight" strategy. Since my wife takes no interest in my collection, one looks much like another to her. I did, however, get burned on the first day of owning my stainless-handled Native. I was just sitting there opening & closing it when she spotted it was different from across the room.

Hmm
I only have about 25 total.
I feel like an underachiever around here.

Under 100. Apparently I only have a minor obsession. Can't wait to tell the wife.

Live free and buy. It's the American way.

Not too well off, but well off only because I work 2 jobs, 7 days a week. My weekend job pays for my knife hobby and addiction to knives as well as any extras needed at home and for the family.

If I could get over my obsession with knives, then I guess you could than say I would be very well off. I fear I will never get to that point, though! Have to have some type of hobby!

My wife, well, she doesn't watch here so I am safe. She knows about all my knives but she doesn't know the costs of them. Hey, she doesn't ask, so why give it up? I don't 'cut' into our budget by purchasing knives so she really doesn't care what I spend. She's beautiful & great!

I keep all my knives in safety deposit boxes at my bank. I have 3 boxes, one for each of my children. The ones I switch up now and then to use are with me, of course.

Mark

P.S. I also look at it as being an investment for my kids! Wish I would have been so fortunate.

I have a total (2) knives in my current possession. I own neither.

I do, however, have full rights to (4) blades; but I have never seen or felt them.

I also partially own (2) blades of which I have only heard wonderful stories.

Am I pathetic, or what??

Tim

Tickblade, with a name like that and none of your own? WHO IS LIABLE IF YOU CUT YOURSELF? Im thinking maybe you are only four and must therefore become older to own these you have spoken of!(just kidding, no offense)
biggrin.gif
.......Do you feel lucky? Its only a few days till FREE knife of the month(I mean knives)

Since my wife does almost all our cooking, my usual relationship to our kitchen knives is maintenance. I own 4 carry knives, and one or two are with me every day depending on need or whim. I don't believe in owning any more than I actually use, so I have the necessaries for my lifestyle. But I always keep up with the field because I am a knife guy, like all the rest.

hrmm...let's just say NOT NEARLY ENOUGH...i only started collecting a short time ago and have no job
wink.gif
...but of those i do have they're of good quality
smile.gif
...geeze i get chewed out for having the small amount i do....maybe the fam calms down when you get around 100 eh?

I have around 20 knives. Not including "other" knives that I bought from friends that I thought I could fix, or my kits or the ones I haven't finished making yet......

I haven't stopped yet though.

Regarding own vs carry....I guess I carry with me on my person at most times three or four, two in car and have lots nearby in house. Always if I am dressed a Spydie co-pilot with bone and scrim handle from AG Russell, Endura, BM Leopard, Mini Afck, Delica, Mini Leopard, CS 3" clip point, 4" Clip point, WKC non-mag neck carry, WKC Uji (small tanto) MOD Hornet, Escalator, swiss army...am I meandering, wandering or lamenting? For the record, I generally do not carry anything above $100 as I do not wish to replace the hard to replace. Looking for cheap 440V military and also custom micarta handled police model.

Three -- a Spyderco Endura II, a Philippine made fighter-survival knife, and a China-made keychain knife.

Oh, make that four -- tomorrow I will win the Fallkniven and pukko from BF
wink.gif
!

correction: the total is four 'cause the pukko will be owned by my wife
smile.gif

another correction: Bartman got the swede blades but I got the Military. I guess the wife will just have to wait for the Carnivour in the next draw

A Spyderco Worker from the 80's (w/broken tip, from my abuse)and a Lakota Finwing, an old Gerber Coho fillet, a Benchmade Bushmaster and an original Leatherman. All of which I only used when camping/fishing.

Butt then I found ebay last month and bid on a Spyderco Viele and a Wayne Goddard, won both from Bruce at Bullman Cutlery (real nice guy, and xlnt knives) and he turned me on to this forum. Since then I've got a LM Wave, Spydie Moran, a Case hunter, and I'm negotiating for 4 more, and waiting for two to come in the mail. (Do *all* knifenutz salivate over mailpersons?)

Is there any hope of this fever subsiding?
My wife is asking. ><g>

.....Your mailperson needs to be added to your Christmas list, A knife makes a good token, it pays off. I have mine trained to come to my house first when I get a small package! He always likes to help me open them to see whats inside! Gave him a Spydie last Christmas
