For the longest time I carried one knife at a time. However, over the past few months (no doubt due to BF) I have found myself carrying more. First it was the leatherman, then the leatherman and a folder, now it's the leatherman, a small folder in one pocket and a large folder in the other.

I tell myself, "ok i need a small folder for small stuff. the large folder for larger stuff, and the multitool is just palin useful." But now i get this little nagging voice telling me that a neck knife might be useful

And the girlfriend isn't sympathetic.

How many is too many for you?

When my suspenders will no longer hold up my belt, I know I have too many knives on me. You can tell your girlfriend that you know someone who carries a dozen or so, if you think it will help ;).

And you need one that is sheeple friendly.

I was hoping my Kershaw Leek would be my sheeple knife. It is very gentlemanly looking... but all i get is "Oh my, that's a switchblade!" :(

Then it's a mini lecture on AO.

:D I say somewhere around 500 at one time.., anything over that is just ridiculous!! :D haha

seriously though., a long as it isn't making your pants fall down or it becomes uncomfortable, carry as many as you want!!

I don't know how many is too many, but I do know how many is too few. Less than two is too few. One for utility tasks, the other for more pressing needs.

What kind of ''pocket fixed blade'' do you carry T.K.C. ? What exactly constitutes a ''pocket fixed blade? This is a new concept to me, and the wheels are already turning. I'm beginning to plan my next purchase here.

If I'm not mistaken, she carries a Gene Ingram pocket hippo.

I carry a Case amber bone trapper and a craftsman folding utility blade. Here lately though I have only been carrying the utility knife, mainly case I cut alot of boxes and stuff at work, but find alot now that I dont carry the Case as much, I need it more for like bigger jobs and peeling apples and stuff like that. I dont have a holster or anything for the case, so i usually dont carry it for the reason it is too bulky in my pocket. If i could find a good nylon sheath to carry it in it wouldnt be so bad. If you were in my shoes what would you do? I love my case because it is a good knife and has been there alot, plus it cost me $35, but on the other hand I like my craftsman cause I can use it on jobs my case cant do and if I break a blade, chip it or whatever I can replace it.

If you can't swim the moat you need to lighten up a bit, other than that anything goes...:D

I carry a leatherman on my belt, a folder in my pocket while in uniform. My IBA has a large fixed blade attached to it. And just a folder or fixed blade while around town. But then there is always 2 in my truck, and a pick axe just to be safe.

1st off, too many? Is there such a thing?

Just kidding! I guess it depends n what kind of load you can bear. I didn't think of suspenders; got me thinking now.

I'm a two knife carrier myself; one large folder in the right front pocket, and a smaller folder in my right rear pocket; that's usually the sheeple friendly one.

Almost forgot, I always have a Leatherman Wave, and a snap-off cutter in my vehicle.

A Leek is about as Sheeple Friendly as I will carry. Sometimes if I'm in a Sheeple dense crowd, and I'm not in the mood for the whole AO Lecture, I just "Fake" open the Leek like it's a regular folder. The Sheeple just keep gnawing on their grass.

I thought about carrying 2, but it crossed my mind that it might not be a good idea. My primary reason for carrying is for defense. If I were to have to use it one day, it wouldn't look good if I were carrying 2 knives, I would think.

i usually carry two (four if you count the blades the leatherman wave) knives a day. i carry a buck 301 as a sheeple-friendly piece and a full sized griptillian for heavier work. i like to keep my pockets light, so more than that feels somewhat awkward to me. i don't really see the need to care more than that.
