How many knives on the person is too many?

:D I say somewhere around 500 at one time.., anything over that is just ridiculous!! :D haha

seriously though., a long as it isn't making your pants fall down or it becomes uncomfortable, carry as many as you want!!

So true!

I normally jam as many fixed blades/pocket knives into the largest compartment on the front of my daypack:thumbup::D

Who knows you might just have the type of luck where you always have to rely on a backup... or several...

My EDC is:

*ZT 0200 (If I ever have to cut myself out of a burning building.:D.).
*Kershaw Groove (For the sheeple.).
*Leatherman Wave ('Cause it's handy for "whatever".).

Everyday.

Two at a time is plenty for Every day but three or four at a time for scouting events might not be able to cut it.

You can tell your girlfriend that you know someone who carries a dozen or so, if you think it will help ;).

yablanowitz,
Are you sure about "a dozen or so"? (is it dozen in each pocket?) And how many is "so"? approximately? :D

Me only 3-4. All Spyderco.
RFP - C83 Persian to cut anything. Cut cardboard boxes just great. Big help on recycle days.
LFP - Caly3, clean knife used for lunch, snacks.
Ladybug on keychain used to open for mail at home.
Few days a week adding Kopa Cocobolo in watch pocket, used to open mail, various plastic bags.

For the past 5 years, probably longer, I don't leave the house without at least 2 knives in my pockets. I always have a large, single bladed, locking, with deep carry pocket clip, knife in my right front pocket, while in my left front pocket resides a small two bladed slipjoint. I found out long ago that this world has a fair share of sheeple and it was better to draw out a Case Barlow, or some such knife, than to pull out a Strider AR, or again, some such knife, to do a minor cutting chore. Also very practical to have the smaller knife for loaning purposes provided the borrower meets my criteria to borrow my knife! I have decided to try out a Boker Wharcom for my small knife and should have it on hand to try this Saturday. Will also retire my large knife, currently a Kershaw Tyrade, for a while to carry my new incoming ZT0500 MUDD also arriving in the same box this coming Saturday! Yep, two are always better than one when it comes to knives.

Only one person knows the answer to that question: Dexter Ewing.

If you see him at BLADE, introduce yourself and ask him to show you every knife he's carrying. Oh yes, better bring an office adding machine so you can keep a running total. ;):D;)

I usually carry two (SAK Cadet or Soldier, and then either a nice traditional slipjoint or a small tactical). But lately I've been adding the Case jigged amber bone Peanut to the mix as well so I'm up to three (Okay, four if you count the one on my keychain...)

I buy into the old adage 2 is 1, and 1 is none.

Two for me, both folders, one smaller 4 inch handle 3 inch blade, one larger 5 inch handle and 4 inch blade.

Current average here is what... 14 knives at once? 12? :D

Seriously though, when I first came here, one knife seemed like more than enough, although I occasionally carried 1 folder and a multi-tool.

Now I'm carrying a 3" bladed user, and a Victorinox Rambler. It's surprising how often that tiny Phillips and standard screwdriver come in handy at work!

The most I carry on any regular basis is one 3" "nice" knife, a 3" beater, and a Vic Rambler.

Just one for me.

There was a time where I carried a Gunting on my belt, a large Seb right front pocket, a salt IWB and a BM Big Spender in a mission wallet.

It was pointless for me. Unnecessary weight.

One folder on me is good and maybe a small, light fixed blade in my backpack or laptop case.

Maybe I'll change my mind again in the future but for now lightweight is good.

I'll carry a small push dagger on my keychain, and a 4" folder and a Swiss Army knife in my bag. Three feels like a good number.

Too many is when you have to stay standing, because if you sit you will never get up.

That's what kids are for! C'mere, boy, help me up!!! :D

I carry (usually) 2. A clip (usually spyderco calypso) and a sak or stockman. But that doesn't count my Vic money clip, which has a really small blade. And the stockman has 3... :D

Here for the past month or so, I have just been carrying one of my Vic SAK's as a sort of experiment. I actually find that it does everything I need it to and then some. I am looking for another Millie and a Leek to carry though, I just love to play with the "tactical" knives:) Months ago, it wasn't uncommon for me to have three or more knives on me at a time, but I carry alot of other stuff in my pockets and knives take up space I don't have, so two will probably be the max for me from now on(not counting fixed blades, they don't take up pocket space).

2 or 3 for me.Leatherman(multi-tool),a Firebyrd(for the sheeple),& a different folder everyday;)

For me too many is having more than one blade for the same type of cutting job.
I carry a Vic Classic for the screwdriver, which I use as a pry bar.
I carry a Micra for the screwdrivers, which I use as screwdrivers.
I carry a cutting blade, which I use for cutting. Don't have use for more at any one time.

JTR357;5660305]2 or 3 for me.Leatherman(multi-tool),a Firebyrd(for the sheeple),& a different folder everyday;)

This is a typical EDC for me...like today for instance:)

I've never needed more then one at a time, however, at a time I carried two (one for the left hand one for the right). While working if my right hand was tied up and I needed a knife it was a lot handier.
