I have bought and sold some Sebenzas a number of times> I just couldn't see carrying it on a regular basis. I was mostly afraid of losing it. Recently I bought a large sebbie and this time I will be including it in my EDC rotation. I figure since I enjoy a good knife why not use it. Up until now my edc knife has been a Spydie delica and a bench made mini grip among some others. I haven't lost those in over ten years so why not move up the knife ladder.
also I have a Hinderer coming and if I like it for edc I will include it in my rotation of daily carries.
Anyone else decide to take the leap and carry their better knives?

I've always EDC'ed and used (no babying) all of my knives, from $100 productions up to the $2000+ customs. If I'm buying it, I'm carrying it and using it as it was intended.

Small seb 21 plain Jane all day everyday. The key to not loosing stuff is to treat everything as if it's extremely valuable.

I never act carelessly with any of my knives. Just becuase I'm carrying a less expensive folder doesn't mean I will suddenly forget to care about keeping it in my pocket

So when I'm carrying the seb, nothing changes. I just keep not loosing it like I've done ever since I started carrying:)

This is a knife enthusiast site. I would bet many if not most EDC some very expensive knives, as well as watches, pistols...........

I have a Sebenza 25 in my pocket right now.

I currently have a XM-18 in my pocket. I had wanted one for about three years, so when I finally bought one a couple of weeks ago it went right into my pocket. I have personally found that in order for me to truly appreciate what separates high-end knives from other knives; I need to actually carry them.

I would rather own one knife or a few that i really like and carry than a bunch of cheaper ones that i dont really use often. I have been carrying my 21 for awhile, I sometimes switch between a delica and 0566

I just grab whatever looks good for the day, be it an inexpensive rainbow Leek or a Chris Reeve Damascus.

Have carried a damascus tispine and sebenza with no worries but end up with my zt 0562cf or spyderco bowie/techno most days

I rotate between a Sebenza 25, Lrg Micarta Insingo and Umnumzaan.

I own many more knives that have never been carried, some fixed and some folders. It doesn't mean I won't use them,..It just means I appreciate them in one form or another..Eventually, they will all get used in one form or another.

I switch between Hinderer, a Jeremy Robertson El Patron, a Strider, down to a ZT561. I won't have one if I can't carry and enjoy it. I buy my knives to use and carry. No safe queens here. :-)

I beat the hell out of my Strider SNG, most high end knives come with badass warranties so why not use it. Plus if you break it and they wont fix it, it will give you an excuse to buy something else :). My only fear is lossing it that would bum me out more than breaking a tip off.

I had the same issue when I went from Benchmade to CRK about 7 years ago. It is a tough hurdle to jump but once you get over it there's no going back.
I have a decent collection of CRK's and slowly rotate through about 5 of them that I use for everything. They don't get babied and they hold up to use better than you would think- they're hard use knives.

None of the knives in my rotation cost less than that!

I slowly worked my way up to the point where I was comfortable carrying more and more expensive knives, didn't happen overnight!

I find it really helps to buy high end knives that are already used, then I'm not squeamish about putting the first scratch or two on them.

Ultimately life is too short for me to miss out enjoying nicer knives because I leave them at hope out of fear of damaging or loosing them.

With all that said I don't abuse my knives (except the Striders!)

I was nervous as hell the first couple days I carried my Sebenza but now I don't even think about it.

My EDC for the last 3-4 yrs has been a large Sebenza, a CRK Umnumzaan, and most recently, I am carrying a Brad Southard mid-tech folder.
No reason not to.
