How many of you use your folders for cutting meat when eating out?

On one occasion, I used my stockman to cut some meat at a Chinese buffet house where the knife provided was (literally) a butter knife. I got a couple looks, but even the waitress thought I had a good idea going;)

i have actually thought about this as well, and yea if i needed to cut some steak, tho i shouldnt if its good meat, i would probly use this.

its very innocent looking to sheeple in public, it actually looks like a good quality steak knife, so yea i would use it if i had too, very sharp and stable cutting blade.

im certainly not going to run the blade of my carry knife, a rittergrip, down the middle of a glass plate.
i dont have to worry about the kiss getting messed up, the steak probly cost more than the kiss did.

and it sharpens pretty easy too.

I went to a restaurant you guys would love. My dad and I kind of hate cities, so we're always looking for excuses to get out of Buenos Aires. We have a weekend house in the countryside, near a small village, where we keep our horses. Just an hour away from BA.

We went there earlier today because rent was due and we decided to check out one of the local "parrillas" (grilled meat restaurant) that had quite a reputation and worked a lot with foreigners who want to get a feel for the Argentine countryside. We walked in, sat down and after giving us the wine list the waiter asked us: "You guys brought your own blades, didn't you?" Apparently it's very common to use your own knife, they even use the wooden plates that are the real traditional "asado" (barbecue) plates. We were quite happy, a great meal and my dad actually used a fixed blade with a 5" blade without getting one strange look. You gotta love laid back country folk!

I carry a Busse Meaner Street 99% of the time and I always use when out to eat. I've never had funny looks from anyone except sheeply patrons... Heck all the Busse forum crew at blade went to a nice brazilian steak house thursday night... we all had brought our own knives.

I tend to use my edc folder several times a week at my college cafeteria. Its almost always either being used for cutting up tough meat that the butter knives won't handle or cutting bagels in half. While everyone else tears theirs in half and makes a complete mess, I just neatly slice it, being careful not to slice my hand open of course. I do get some looks from people once in a while, but since I am getting the job done twice as fast and with better results, I don't care
