Same knife all day long. All of Sept I’ve stuck with the Remington 73, was considering rotating through them for a month at a time but now I’m thinking maybe a week long rotation.

Very infrequent that I change out my carry during the course of a day. From day to day, however, is a different story.

Usually I carry the same two knives all day at work. A small 303 cadet and a large vantage pro. Then after I get home I change the vantage for a marksman sometimes a 110LT depending on what I’m doing. Then when I go fishing, hunting or camping I take the appropriate knife for the tasks.

Honestly it all depends. I could stick with the same modern and traditional knife for a week, or I could go and switch them out 2 or 3 times a day. Just depends on my mood and if I’m really using them.

Work during week - Leatherman
After work - traditional user
Weekend day - traditional user
Weekend nights - fancy traditional 🧐

If going somewhere I need to keep my head on a swivel (which is most places these days) I'll carry a larger modern.

I always have a Victorinox Rambler in my pocket, whether I'm at work or at home. I usually then choose a traditional to carry for the day to go along with the SAK. So to answer the OP's question, 1 selection/day.

I may add another knife for a special need. Otherwise only change daily.

I usually will carry the same 2 knives all day , but I have to be mindful of where I will be going during the day .

I work in dirty/oily/greasy conditions during the day, so a stainless traditional for work, then usually something carbon and traditional after work. Weekends anything I feel like I'll get the most use of that day

Every day I carry my Usual Lambsfoot. This satisfies my "one knife forever" urges.
I carry a second knife that will satisfy my need for change. This system keeps me happy.

In the early morning, while drinking coffee, grading papers, and reading the forum, I have my Usual Lamb and a second knife sitting at the table with me. These are the two knives I take pictures of for the Totin' thread. They spend a good three hours with me and I fiddle with them constantly.

Then it's time to go to work. I usually swap out the second knife for a new one before I leave. After all, I just spent three hours fiddling with it and I'm bored with it.
So, I have my Lamb and the third knife for the day in my pockets at work. The third knife sits on my desk and I admire it for the three hours I'm in the classroom.

Then I head home to start the virtual part of my day, another five hours worth of staring at a computer and talking to students.
Of course, I just spent three hours staring at the same knife, so when i get home I swap it for a fourth knife.
That fourth knife sits on my desk at home and I fiddle with it, cut my lunch, open Amazon packages, and such.

Then it's dinner time, and that usually means a steak or piece of meat.
I swap out the fourth knife for a Sodbuster of some sort. Sodbusters are my favorite steak and food knife... that would be the fifth knife for the day.

After dinner, I usually relax in front of the TV with my Wife, watching football or one of our favorite shows.
The Sodbuster gets put back and I grab knife number six for the day. Depending on the night, I may even go swap them again just to have something different.

At bed time the knives are returned to their resting spot and the Lamb stays in my pocket... the Lamb never leaves my pocket.

Next day I start all over at 4:30 picking the knife to pair with my Lamb again... I have issues.

On weekends, I usually don't swap knives at all because I'm out working around the house or traveling.

Same knife all day (and every day recently it seems), whether in the house or outside. The only exception is occasionally on the weekends if I go somewhere with my wife or daughter where a 5-1/2” ratchet knife might be inappropriate, or if I am doing chores around the house or yard and need something different.
