Now if he had been making for over 20 yrs for a total of 12000 then thats 600 knives/yr @ $400/knife = $240,000.00/yr. Not a bad wage for a knifemaker.. Not a bad wage for a CEO

well it's listed on a master knife makers web site.. that he has done this and claims to have sharpened over 40,000 knives also, I just can't see it being done.. I could be wrongDan Did he say he Sharpened them or made them it could be possible to just sharpen that many as long as you didn't make them.
I dont know why but that part of your post that said he sharpened them stuck in my mind.

You also have to consider whether the master smith has helpers or is working alone! Don't some shops have underlings who are learning the trade, that do the more mundane tasks and the master smith takes care of the finer techniques?

600 knives a year is doable but man would that would get old. I had a couple 500+ years and I never was real organized![]()
Lmao Dan, you just reminded me about the maker who claimed to put 80 hours of hand rubbing finish into every knife he made!!! Lmaooooooooooo!
maybe some are immortal!![]()
