It is quite a thrill to find a nicely made knife, 50 years old more or less, that has never been used! Likely only two or three people have ever touched this knife since it was made and packaged in one of Case's Pumpkin boxes. One of our good friend Dealers here on BF bought a box of NOS Stockman knives, and sold (traded) this one to me.
Takes my breath away!!

It has a couple of blade rubs, because it was built slim, tight and beautiful! GEC's #38 whittlers remind me of this knife.
It is a 6332, so it is 3 11/16" long (nearly 3 3/4").
The handles are a nice match, a beautiful deep red!
Lucky me!
If you have a time machine knife :D, please post it!!

Charlie, I have a couple. This first one is a 1975 Schrade Walden 881Y that is 100%: unused, unsharpened, uncarried, original box.

Just look at this close up- no blade rubs, and check out those pointy points! Love the "as ground" blade finish, too.

The second one is my Robeson equal end jack, circa 1922-1939. It does have a little patina, but the blades are remarkably full
and untouched for an ~85 year old knife. No outgassing from the butter & molasses celluloid covers, either.

No knife to share right at this moment, but that IS a sweet minty knife!

So, you're throwing it in your pocket right Charlie?...:D Awesome find, something about a knife knife that's 50 years old!

Since I don't collect Users, all of my knives are in similar condition with factory edges and original packaging (when possible).
50 years old is a long time though...

Although I've read that some Bruckmann knives were assembled during modern times, all of the blades were ground and polished prior to WWII. So ~75 years old or more. I think many of these are originals and not more recent assembles. All have the original crocus polish.

These are Okapi knives, originals, made in Germany before the company moved to South Africa. Don't recall the date...

The knife on the right is another Bruckmann; the knife on the left is an unused older product from Geisen & Forstoff supposedly made in the 1950s.

The age of this unused knife from Needham cutlery?

Schrade first started producing Old Timer pocketknives over 50 years ago. Some of the earliest knives in this collection could be 50. With one exception, they are all unused.

It's getting to where 50 years isn't very long ago. Heck, I bet we have members here with brand new knives 50 years old that they bought themselves when the knives were current production.

That is a beautiful 6332 Charlie ! :thumbup::thumbup::)

A few of my more minty Case's from 1970:

Beautiful "as ground" blades on the trapper, Prim, any chance of seeing that one opened up?

Great examples! Thanks to all for sharing.

Kinda minty... or maybe not, but it's the best one I've ever seen.

I was lucky enough to get this on the bay late one night. Challenge Cut Co.

That a great looking Case Charlie.

Best regards

Robin

:thumbup:Nice Schrade, Jeff! Great collection, Bob!
Sweet 10 dots, Rob! Desirable bunch, Al!
Fine HJ, Robin - pays to stay up late!!
:D

Great thread idea Charlie, congratulations on your latest find, and there are some quite incredible knives being shown here, absolutely stunning. Along with all the crusty old things I pick up, I have been lucky enough to find a few old minties. I shall have a look in my Photobucket account and see what I can find there for now II do need to take some pics) ;)

Nice knife! I'm also a fan of the 32 pattern from Case. I have a 32 that's close but it has a few bruises. It's becoming harder and harder to find knives that are truly mint and not "restored". This knife is pretty close to mint.

Charlie, nice Case, here are a pair of Case Barlow's from the same era. Doubt these have much if any use on them.
