How Minty Can It Be??

This thread is giving me the shivers! I need to stop looking at it it! :D Stunning knives guys

It's getting to where 50 years isn't very long ago. Heck, I bet we have members here with brand new knives 50 years old that they bought themselves when the knives were current production.

and we're both vintage antiques, now.

Another Hal Haul!! Great score, even if they are greasy old knives!!:D

You certainly are the master of Schrade internet deals, Hal!!

I stumbled upon a little treasure trove of minty Schrade NY USA knife listings on eBay this week in the afternoon. They were all made in the mid 1970's, A muskrat, a trapper, and three medium stockman. All with the plastic tubes and factory grease. I missed out on the large stockman, but was happy to pick off these BUY IT NOW bargains one at a time.

825SS Razor Blade Stainless 3 9/16" Slim Stockman

Like them all, but this is my favorite. Always nice when you can make some finds like these!

The red bone Case 6332 stockman is maybe my favorite vintage knife. Here are six, but only 5 remain mint as the bottom one found it's way into my rotation along with a 6232 jack. :)

I suppose I should thin the herd some....

Yowza, Barry! Those are some nice looking knives. I volunteer to help you thin the herd.

Some of my mint or near mint middle-aged knives.

Case XX Stainless 06263 (my favorite of my "Ikes")

Case XX US -06263

Case 10-dot 1970 6308 and 6208 (the 6308 was my first "collection" knife - got it in 1986.

Charlie, congrats on a great score! My dad carried a 6332, it's the only knife I remember him using.

I resemble that remark ... bought this one new mid 70s. Stryrofoam deteriorating but otherwise is as purchased.

Here is my favorite old knife. Does not show use just age spots, like me. Pretty minty. Innocent and Sons (before 1860) stag jack knife nice 2 blade jack knife marked Innocent and Sons. My resources indicate this one is late 1800s. Knife is 3 1/4" closed. I'll let John's pictures tell the story

Beautiful knife, Charles. The bolster and liner construction is interesting. Are the embellishments on the liner as well as the bolster? Does the bolster run under the handle material? Very neat knife!

Did someone say minty!! I love the knives that have been posted here and thanks Charlie for starting this thread. Most of mine are Safe Queens and I love to show them off. How about these. I posted the Cattaraugus thread this morning but for those that did not see it here it is again with some Utica's.

Mike those are some "minty" pieces. I am fond of pearl and that bare head Catt is a beaut!

Jake I think this picture show it best

There is a blend of the materials between the bolsters and liner and the embellishments are to both. Looks like the silver is under the stag covers about 1/16"

Beautiful bolster and stag on your knife Charles. I admire that wraparound spring too, fine proportions this wonderful English knife has.

Regards, Will

This really is a fun thread!

Barry, the pictures of those Case stockmans will now spawn a recurring dream of sorting thru the stock room of an old, recently closed general store............ WOW!

Thanks to everyone for sharing your mintys... and keep 'em coming!

A couple more of mine...

My picture-taking doesn't capture the pretty luster of the pearl on these two.

Thanks Charles. I must have missed your stag jack knife the first time around. Very nice and I also really like the bolsters on that knife. It looks so well made overall.

The box of Case stockman knives is really cool. Great knives Galvanic, I really like the last one.

Frank Buster Cutlery Co. Fight'n Rooster prototype stockman from 1978, mint in the box.
