how much do you really drink?????

Coffee ? :D

My last drink was on Labor Day 27 years ago.

Enrolled as an outpatient in Tempe St. Luke's substance abuse program the following Tuesday.

No alcohol since.

No Regrets !

I'll drink with you, my friend. Got a nice mug of tasty Guatemala Antigua "Flor De Esperanza" next to me right now. :) (yeah, OK...so I'm a bit of a coffee snob...! :o:D)

I grew up in the village, so I got drinking out of my system a long time ago.

Doesn't really work for being a Firefighter/EMT either.

Never had a probem with it myself, but several close people I know have been severely affected by it, so I don't drink anymore.
Don't really like the way it makes me feel either.

I also would never let my daughter see me in this room. She's a young teen, and I don't mind if she see's a curse word in what I'm looking at, but no way I want her in this "family" room seeing all the alchol.

Good on you! Keeping kids straight is hard enough without substances.

Probably get thown off here, but haven't touched a drop in 28 years. I drank up my allotment of booze.I have been known to toss back an energy drink every once in a while though.

I was a few hundred miles away when my father died and was so upset when I finally made it home that I got rip roaring drunk. :(

That was 21 years ago.

I found out the next day that my father was an alchoholic (he obviously hid it well) and I already knew my uncle and grandfather were alchoholics.

It was obvious I was bucking pretty strong odds so I quit that day.

As long as caffeine is legal I am good to go.

I don't have a problem with folks who drink, I just choose not to.

I am glad my older son has figured it out as well and has chosen other addictions. INFI!!

When I was at Blade West with the Busse Combat folks and the hogs, 5 of the dozen or so people in attendance didn't drink at all. There are about as many teetotalers in the Busse crowd as there are drinkers.

Drinking or non-drinking – whatever works for you is fine with us.

Almost never, once or twice a year if an occasion comes up that puts me in the mood. I do drink a tub of whey protein every other day though, so we all have our vices.

Let's see...infraction for teetotalling, infraction for teetotalling...don't see it on the list...

Nope, you're good! :D:thumbup:

;)

i imbibe quite frequently, almost Under the Volcano-level boozing. i'm drinking a beer now. i can drink 12-15 beers or drinks in a day and function just fine. i don't drink that much everyday, but 3-4 days a week, most weeks.

i prefer Stone IPA. i'm a bit of a hophead, i suppose.

I don't drink never have
But one time when I was a little boy my mom had a glass of water or so I thought and asked for a drink and wow was that nasty so I spit it out
I don't like any thing that alters my mind except infi and when I was in my motor ctcle accident they maxid me out on morfine in the amblence and I could not feel it then when I got to the hospitol they gave me more and then I asked when is it going to kick in so I can feel it they were shocked and said um wow I said no more give me something else I don't know what it was but my memory is not what I'm used to after that
Luckily I was not hurt that bad just a 1/4 of my back was road rash broken arm dislocated elbow and broke back wow did that hurt
But other than that never high or drunk

Congrats to those of you who realized you had a problem and are actively working on your sobriety. To read this thread, it would seem the group is a bunch of very light drinkers. Something isn't adding up.

One glass of red wine with dinner to degrease the arteries and one beer later to keep the feet warm. I dislike hangovers so it's been a self fixing issue for me. YMMV.

no issues with moderation here, thank goodness.

I generally enjoy a drink or two (usually whiskey but sometimes wine or another spirit), a couple or three days a week on average. I like to smoke some too, but tobacco isn't my thing.

You're in the clear as long as you don't end up like this:

At least an Earl Grey every evening, and usually some green tea in the morning.
Once I discovered Earl Grey, Black tea just wasn't good enough anymore.

...

Despite some heavy taunting from friends, never touched alcohol.

More recently I did get a bottle of Everclear to light stuff on fire and eat it too, but that's the extent of that.

I'll go most days with just water. Some nights the wife will bring home a bottle of wine, we each have 2 or 3 glasses of that.

On the weekends though, or at social events, I'll break into a nice Speyside single malt. I can put down 6 or 7 doubles before the night's over. The Macallan 18 usually.

Killed a few bottles of Ommegang Three Philosophers and a couple Trappistes Rochefort 10 last night.

Oh, and then there's a bar in our offices in White Plains and Manhattan, so I'll usually stop there for a few on Thursdays and Fridays. Free beer's always a good thing!

Working for a major beer company keeps me pretty stocked, then there's all the free beer at the events we sponsor (US Open last week). Wow, when I think about it that sounds like a lot of drinking! Guess I can't complain.
