I found a TGLB for sale not on the forum for 600 dollars with a sheath its unused and still brand new.
I have never owned a busse and I apsolutly love the looks of this knife wanted one sence i first saw it.
So my question is should I pass and keep looking or just go for it ?
Thanks

Tough one man... what's your budget and how badly do you want that particular one (those questions are for you to consider, not answer publicly). I have a TGLB, and I love it. I bought it direct from Busse years ago. I know that when I show it to friends (not knife-nuts) they are taken aback by the regular price... the secondary market would give them a heart attack. If it were me, I'd shop around... but that's not fair because I'm not in your shoes.

I did my best with nearly an impossible question--good luck, let us know what you decide. I can tell you this--I'd never part with mine.

I would keep shopping. $600 is steep. It's probably the most popular busse ever made, and there are always some for sale between here and ebay. Good luck. It's easy to find sheaths if you get one without. Spec ops master long sheath works well, and there are plenty of custom options.

In that price range, you are in the Battle mistress price with a sheath.

I'm hard core anti price gouging/aftermarket price.

Especially avoid certain unscrupulous sellers that Dominate and spam the Ebay market.

If I were to sell mine, I would just ask for the 450.00 I paid for it direct from Busse, the Sheathe I got from Condo leather was 150.00. I could never part with it though. This and my Battle grade Ak47 when I get it, are my zombie slaughtering combo lol

Well it's in the budget. It is coated and that's the only busse design that I like enough to buy.
But I don't see them for sale all that often and I have wanted one for a long time now
I think ime going to let this one go and pray to god I find another one.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Ime going to have to start looking here on the exchange never bought anything here yet.

Try to have some patience (next to impossible when you're in the throes of INFI fever, I know), because TGLB's come up pretty often here for reasonable prices from good knife folk, they just don't last too long...:)

Here's an additional idea-- it may help if you upgraded your BF membership to at least "Gold" level, that way you can PM or email the seller immediately when you're sniping a hot deal...it could be the difference between holding a TGLB in your hot little hooves or just whistlin' Dixie

Check the Exchange as often as practical, too. And hit F5 immediately after you check it the first time, repeat until the TGLB is acquired or your boss fires you...whichever comes first

What kind of sheath? A nice leather can run you $100 plus. That being said my max on a standard tglb is $450 shipped and pp fees included. I'd go $600 if the sheath was a top notch leather.

Big finish aren't tglb. Different knife there and they do command a higher price. $800 is probably a little high there too, but that depends on handle material as well.

A TGLB from Busse was $387 plus $15 shipping, so $402. My TGLB direct from Busse with G10 was $422 plus shipping (Ganzaaa price). If the sheath is leather than it could be a $150 sheath, so the actual cost is $550+ at that point. If the sheath is kydex then it would of course cost less. Everyone needs to decide what they are willing to pay for what they want, but if it's in the color combo you want, and it's a nice sheath, then it's not a bad deal I don't think.

There are a lot of TGLB's out there, so I would make sure you wait and get the color combo you want. I'm pretty sure you will like it once you get one, it's one of my favorite knives around camp.

Was knife hunter a Team Gemini or a Light Brigade? That could be your reason for the price dif. You could also contact him directly. I've done that before and he has worked with me

Finding TGLB on the Exchange for $400 is half the battle... finding it in time to Say I'll take it is a whole other story.
Unless its modified than your chances are better...

The TGLB have increased in value dramatically since they were discontinued, it is amazing the influence a TV show has, That being said, if it is a quality leather sheath and you are determined to get it $600 is not outrageous. A few months ago these were selling for $525 to $575 without sheaths. The Team Gemini is either Satin, or Busse's Industrial Grade Finish. These are more expensive because of the Satin or BIG Finish, they have no fullers or Blood grooves. The Big Finish on the Forum will usually sell for around $600 starting point-The Team Gemini Satin from $675 Up-Hope this helps

As mentioned above, cost from Busse with G10, with shipping and a $50 Kydex sheath gets you to about $487, so its up to you how much of a markup you are willing to absorb from there based on you patience and wallet. I was patient and got both for $500 so that was certainly fair. Some of the eBay prices are seeking the guy with the least amount of restraint /patience and I'm not that kind of buyer.

This!

Lots of good info already posted. There are quite a lot of variables that could raise the price. The type, condition, and quality of the sheath. The condition and configuration of the TGLB. There are some scales for instance, that are much more desirable than others and can increase the value a decent amount. And then there are the different variants of the TG itself, the TGLB only being one of them.

So $600 could be a little on the high side, or it could be a fantastic deal. If you want a fantastic deal, you'll need to do as Petey suggests, and maybe have a bit of luck as there are many others with the same idea.

Good luck and hopefully you get one sooner than later. There's a value to be placed on the time you could be enjoying your blade as well.
