How much snark could a snarksnark snark if a snarksnark could snark snark?

So tell me again why you are not participating in the MYB threads for, like, the last year? You remember, the thread you started?

Pure laziness. I track runs on my Garmin watch. It auto syncs with my iPhone Garmin app. And a platform called Taparik syncs Garmin Connect with Runkeeper. I just need an app that syncs everything to MYB. :D

..What's on e'erbody's agenda today?..

Don't move my head. I think I've pinched a nerve in my neck. My head feels like it's gonna fall off. Now I'm watching Adventure Time. The Ice King has captured a raspberry and put it in a cage next to a penguin and then a Gameboy just shat out a VHS tape. This cartoon is weird..

So BKNC is doin' 'shrooms. What is everyone else doing?

Well everything I needed a blade for was done in the first 8 or 9 hours of my trip and even most of that time was spent reading. The wind picked up really hard a little after midnight and I ended up kicking the seat back in my truck and getting about 5 hours sleep in there. In the morning I just packed up and left so I only went 20.5 hours instead of 24. I'm tired, dirty, and sore so after a shower and some sleep I'll work on editing and posting the video. But to sum it up: I like the blade, it works pretty well for everything I tried with it. I liked it enough after my first impressions video that I ordered a second one since they're only $60 and are going to get discontinued. However, I still prefer the 9 for the reasons I mentioned in the first impressions video, the angle of the handle and the recurve profile means that when trying to split wood with a baton the knife bottoms out against whatever surface you're using before getting all the way through the wood. Not a huge deal, just need to plan it out a little. Also the BK9 is easier to sharpen.

Instead of holding the spine parallel to the ground when batoning and your hand angled down, when you get towards the end, baton the tip down so your hand pivots to parallel and the belly drops.

It will end up saving your fingers for future misadventures!

It lives! People been askin' about you.

Don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see ;)

Hope everyone is doing reasonably well. I'm just really busy... but mostly in a good way.

Never had a problem smashing my fingers, just that the belly and tang hit the stump before the part of the blade that's in the wood. Sometimes the wood just pops apart, others you have to stop and pull the wood apart with your hands and you have to be careful of the knife and where it lands. It's not a huge issue, just the only thing that separates the BK4 and 9 I think.

One of the first things I do when batoning wood is make a few wooden wedges. If a knife gets bound up, or bottoms out like your saying, I will knock a wedge in and pull the now slack knife free. Set the belly in the wood and keep going.

One other thing is that I believe I baton with more of the belly on my 4, or the part where the belly curves back to the recurve, so I have less of a gap when I get to the base.

Great tip. If the log is too wide, go for wedges over your blade in the first place. It's easy to get injured trying to unstick a knife that is buried from tip to handle.

Just got an email from L.T.Wright. He confirmed that the Scatty Crafter I have is a one off custom. BHK is dissolved, so that's the only one like it. Hmmm...

No. Are they luscious?

I really liked the pair of Mizunos I had. LLS is a good place to get em.

Find you a D.O. My wife fixes that sort of thing for me on a regular basis.
