Also, AC.:D

Already got a good window ac unit ready to throw in there. Went with a shed with multiple windows so I could have options...

Just now thought about something though... It also has a ridge vent... Hmmmm. Won't the A/C just escape out the vent?

I guess I need to Google how to close/block a ridge vent at some point...

I plan things out fully and wonderfully way in advance... Can ya tell?

Ha-ha :D

Not sure I would like the Florida heat/humidity, but I does sound like WW is having fun down there. I could give it a try......;)

Come on down brother. I'm having a blast. Give it another couple months and the temps will be perfect too.

I'm not going to miss snow.... Hell I don't miss anything. Well except the 2nd income... But the wife is looking for work so that could change in the near future... I hope anyways lol

Lots of fishing bud, kayak fishing the other day and seen gators almost the size of my kayak... Pulled the kayaks up to a dock and ate lunch right at a restaurant on the water, then back to fishing... Lots of fun brother.

Sitting outside right now... At what age can I, without judgement, make my kids mow the grass?

6 and 9 ok? Just saying.... I got grass up to my knees in some areas and 2 acres doesn't look fun to mow... I think if I buy the smallest push mower I can find my son could handle it.....

That does sound like a pretty good time.I've been doing a bunch of fishing here too and am hopefully picking up a boat motor tomorrow. I'll be spending a lot of time in the boat once I get the motor on it and work out a few issues with the trailer.

I think I was using a push mower by the time I was 9.

..I think I was using a push mower by the time I was 9..

Yeps, so was I. One day I was playing with my G.I.Joes and dad came and asked if I wanted some coin to go towards my next Joe. I said hell yeah, he said great. I thought he was just gonna give me 10 bucks. Nope. Next thing you know I'm mowin' our lawn and half of the school yard next door. 20 bucks later and a trip into town and I had Stalker and Downtown. Best day ever.

That age sounds good if you had a self-propelled mower. If they can't pull the starter cord get one with an electric start or even a cordless electric mower. I cut the grass at my home with an old-fashioned push mower when I was 9.

At 9 I had my own bb gun, knife, sling shot etc. And me and my brothers were allowed to go in the woods with machetes without an adult....

When i was a kid in the store if I asked for a piece of candy and my father said no... If I asked again and he wore my ass out right in the store no on said a word..

I wouldn't trust either of mine alone in the woods with plastic sporks...

And even if you just talk too "aggressively" to your kids these days you get evil looks... Spank one in public the whole world thinks your an abusive parent.

Times have changed... Parents and people in general have changed.

Mine are responsible for cleaning their rooms, and once they hit 12 they start washing dishes...

But I won't let them mow the grass until I could trust them with more than an empty paper towel tube alone... :D

It's the same way here with a lot of kids, but it's a very very small rural area, so it's sort of expected. :D

I did shoot the house with my BB gun one time, but it was due to my hate of bees (got stung a month or so before and then decided to take revenge with my BB gun :D). Mom and Dad never got too mad about that one though...

Heat rises, might work out in your favor. Maybe.

Good point... As long as I don't keep it running non stop, just get the shop cool and turn it off and repeat as needed it may work ok...

Just gave neko breakfast outside.. Raw chicken.. A dragon fly came too close to his food and became an appetizer...

I love my dog.

Paint the outside white and insulate it.

Wood,

The A/C won't escape out the ridge vent.. Heat rises. The cold air will stay low. Almost all houses here in Florida are built with ridge vents now. Mater of fact, when I had my roof replaced a couple years ago they put one in. The theory these days is that it helps heat escape during the summer when the sun is making your house into an oven. In the winter, with what little cool weather we get, your ceiling insulation will keep the heat in the living area. While your shed may not have a ceiling, I doubt you'll lose much heat in the winter. I was more worried about the sideways rain we get blowing into the vent. But the way they are designed, its not too much of a problem.

What he said.
Also, a ridge vent helps reduce mold in the attic by maintaining air circulation. Sealed-up spaces are quite unhealthy.
Additionally (also also), plan some dust collection/evacuation for your new shop space. VERY exciting, BTW! I can't wait to see pix.

Welp, in 24 hours I'll be at a surgery center in Scottsdale preparing to have PCL reconstructive surgery.
Blew it out (left knee) back in March while skateboarding. I've been riding for 25+ years and at 37 I was about due for something stupid to mess me up. The good news is that I'm young enough to have a cadaver Achilles tendon used which supposedly is one of the better options as opposed to slicing off another part of my body to graft to the torn ligaments.

Not exactly looking forward to recovery but since I have insurance through work, I might as well use it because if I don't get it fixed I'll never be able to be as active as I want to be.

I'll probably be dropping in on the forum to let everybody know that I survived the procedure since I've now shared this information. :p

Lol WW I guess it depends where you are ;) I gave my boy a little licking while at the park the other day and nobody batted an eye.

Good luck Orezona!
