How much snark could a snarksnark snark if a snarksnark could snark snark?

My job can suck at times...bad.
Being a glass furncace mason can turn a young(ish) man old in a hurry.
The pay could be better.
When I get frustrated I just have to remember how good I have it.
I get a company provided Iphone, a credit card, and usually don't have a problem getting time off.

I own my home, 3 rigs, and have really no debt to speak of.
I have 2 wonderful kids and an awesome wife.
My job sucks, so I try to make the most of my time at home. And usually do.

Keep your head up Dubz.
It could always be worse. :D

i daily drive to drive my group and people towards excellence.

most days are pathetic...

i have no family at all, no wife, no kids

no debt

no major health issues

i have a lot to be thankful for, plenty of tools and i mostly own everything but my house and tractor. i can pay my tractor off tomorrow, but that would be stupid

nobody truly loves me, and honestly, i don't truly love anyone.

i could die tomorrow without to many regrets, but i'd probably come back, because, honestly, 100 years is too short. shit, 10,000 years or more. i want to see it all. i want to do it all. your moms.

join me :D

or die :>

mortality, pfffft, losers :D

I'd be happy with a wife and kids at this point. That would be enough.

Plus a million dollars, you know, just for the hell of it.

Also, I just drank a bottle of mead. That's right, old skool medieval mead. Here's a tip when drinking mead - never drink mead. It tastes like someone mixed a glass of champagne with a glass of red wine with half a glass of fermented ass dew.

I'm thankful for what I have, but that's not the point. I'm miserable because of what I have to get up and go to everyday. I was talking to a co-worker of mine, and she works 2 jobs. She was telling me how much she hates working at the place I do. That on her other job, she gets off, and she's done with it, but the job we share, she takes it home with her every night and hates it. I mean in her mind.

Also, you have to understand, that I'm extremely introverted. That's one reason I stuck it out so long at this place. I worked with the same 12 people everyday. Now that a corporation has taken over, I've sorta been thrusted into shit that's way out of my comfort zone. That's not all a bad thing, I understand, but it's just not for me.

So....snark has taken on a somewhat....moribund tone....

well, except for ass dew mead & tractor immortality.

...as long as the rubber side goes down in the morning, there's probably a lot to be thankful for. Not that I ever remember to....

Well, I am almost 70 years old and I have met few people that truly enjoyed their job. But if you live long enough, you can retire. Now, THAT, I truly enjoy.

IBTL

A job you truly hate isn't a job, it's a sentence.

I just realized WW and I can't be friends until after college football season.

Gyutos are interesting. They're even more interesting when you've never made one before and someone you like and admire wants you to make one for him, and tells you, "just make whatever you think is right. Handle, steel, size... whatever, it's up to you". :D

Wood,

The A/C won't escape out the ridge vent.. Heat rises. The cold air will stay low. Almost all houses here in Florida are built with ridge vents now. Mater of fact, when I had my roof replaced a couple years ago they put one in. The theory these days is that it helps heat escape during the summer when the sun is making your house into an oven. In the winter, with what little cool weather we get, your ceiling insulation will keep the heat in the living area. While your shed may not have a ceiling, I doubt you'll lose much heat in the winter. I was more worried about the sideways rain we get blowing into the vent. But the way they are designed, its not too much of a problem.

Doc

What he said.
Also, a ridge vent helps reduce mold in the attic by maintaining air circulation. Sealed-up spaces are quite unhealthy.
Additionally (also also), plan some dust collection/evacuation for your new shop space. VERY exciting, BTW! I can't wait to see pix.

Excellent news, thanks fellas!!

Got it in yesterday, running electricity to it Saturday. It feels so roomy..... empty LOL

Ill post a few pics once i can get them uploaded.

Been thinking... My father's house is about 750-800' away... he has internet and has a wireless modem/router or whatever its called... Im wondering if there is an antenna or booster we can buy to either boost his signal further so i can get it here or an antenna to receive his signal better from 800 feet away or so....

He has At&T.... he was grandfathered in, several people in the area have internet through At&t... The people who use to live in this house im in now had at&t internet and phone... All grandfathered in and once they close their accounts they wont re-service the home... I have talked with over a half dozen people on the phone trying to get service but it just aint happening.

Internet is crap through this phone. Tried all yesterday evening to upload a couple pics of the shed. But life is better... Internet or not.... With internet it would be all kinds of winning though.

Speaking about being thankful and all that... I was dealt a crap hand at life... Born a crack baby to a woman with no sense, had my legs all twisted up at birth, wore leg braces, Never could sleep.... Had my ass whooped more times and worse than most will ever see... Im talking waking up in hospitals with internal bleeding broken bones and hair kicked off my head..... Got injured overseas, brain trauma, caused late-on set epilepsy... Seizures for a few years... 31 years old now and have no teeth in my mouth....

I thank the spirits EVERY SINGLE DAY. We get ONE life... You can let it whoop your ass or you can take it by the horns and enjoy the ride with what you got!!

I never followed college sports much at all, but it's HUGE here in E TN... and the Gators are considered lower than the devil in these parts. I do wear Vols stuff from time to time, because I look good in orange and hey, their logo is a giant T :D

Interesting. I know ZZ makes mead with some of his honey, so I assumed it didn't taste terrible. I'll have to try some before I try making it... Looks like I'm going to get some honey this fall from my bee hives that I started in April.

In my case, sometimes work sucks and sometime it's fun. I make the best of those times...plus I enjoy my hobbies until I can do them full time. It could be worse...you could be a bee and work yourself to death in 6 weeks, only to have some lumbering fool steal half of your honey before winter. :D

And IBTL.

Right??
No pressure there...

WW, I can get 10 miles line-of-sight out of our big omnidirectional wifi antennas on the ship. It takes two, of course, but you can easily bridge your 800' distance. Of course if you have two households sharing a DSL connection, it's just gonna suck no matter what. Directional antennae are also inexpensive, and might be more appropriate for your use. Look at the Ubiquiti gear. Yes, it will cost some money, and no you don't want to stand in front of it...

Finally uploaded....

Like my step?? :D

Looks good Woody! Hopefully, you can get the internet situation figured out.

Got a couple Rippin' Lips brand catfish poles delivered via FedEx yesterday. Can't wait to try them out! We are planning another trip between wheat and bean harvests with my friends boat. Hopefully we can get into some big ones again and maybe catch some eaters. The ones I ended up cooking just didn't turn out that great, so I would really like to try again.

That's gonna be a sweet shop, WW  Plenty of room, good natural light. You're absolutely right to spend the big money up front on a good building and have a real strong "foundation" to build on/around. Word to the wise... it will never be "done". ;)

Right??
No pressure there...

It's very encouraging - and challenging - to have someone who already owns a bunch of really good kitchen knives ask for my "take". And I very much appreciate the opportunity to try a new style, underwritten by someone who has confidence in my work. That's like getting a scholarship or patronage. But I dang well better get it right :D

A certain amount of pressure is good, though. Many feel differently, but I always do my best when I'm sweating a little. When things get too easy or by-the-book, I tend to get bored and sloppy. That's not good for anyone involved.

WW, that shop looks huge! A bit bigger than your former basement I bet.:D. It seems that you are having a ball down there.
