how much $$ you have in knives

I'm probably somewhere around the $75K mark for the knives I do not plan on selling. I hadn't really thought about it until this thread...now I'm thinking about all the other stuff I could have paid for.

Food
clothes for the kids
shelter
taxes..Oh wait, that's the reason I don't have many more:D
 
I made a rough count last night. Summed up to about 3500 dollars. Too much, but I love my knives hehe. I always go overboard with stuff I love. I like biking and decided to buy a 2500 dollar bike even though a 1000 dollar one would have been more than enough heh
 
I have more than I care to admit. Can't decide whether too many knives is a sign of a sick mind, or whether my knife and gun hobbies keep me from going insane. It's probably a fine line.
 
About 5 - 6 k but, as I live in South America, must add another 2 or 3 in shipping costs paid :/

Two things.

There is no way I am putting down how much I have spent in case my wife accessed this thread.

I have the same problem as Clockman; and I just bought another knife. I am still agonising as to whether I should tell her or just try and sneak it in to the house (again).

Hahaha! Same goes for me double!!

Lucky thing my wife does not realize why my briefcase is mostly empty yet I take it to work every day.

I keep promising myself that the next purchase will be the last. I need help.

Lucky for me the wife really has no interest in knives and really doesn't pay attention to what I am carrying. My policy is I usually mention every 5th one to her.
 
I would guess at between $1500 and $2000 but I have never though of myself as a collector. I just like knives. I don't have any that I don't use.

I also never realized how much I don't know about knives until I came to this website.
 
I really don't have a clue, way to much. It is a addiction that makes absolutely no sense.:confused:
 
I blew close to a grand at the last Spyderco seconds sale. Over the course of the last forty years, it's probably around 50K. Who cares, I like knives and I have the money to spend. :D
 
Around $500 in knives, about $350 more in cheap fantasy swords, helmets and a shield. Looking to remedy that.
Anyone want to buy a $25 katana set? :D

The value of my knives, assuming a conservative price could be obtained, might be around 5 to 6k.
I like to think that even after gifting some to a number to people, my collection is worth more than I paid not considering inflation or lost interest on the same amount invested.
The fun it was searching for deals on E bay before it went "swap meet " and looking in pawn shops, estate and garage sales had a certain but hard to discern value as well.
I can honestly say, I never regretted a purchase, but sure think of those I didn't make.
