This is just a curious question. For me its whenever i have the money outside of my bills and savings to get another. Even though after i get one or even after i order a new one i want to buy another. The holding back is hard haha! So how often do you guys buy them, do you have budget?

I buy a new one when I need a new one. I get random odd blades as gifts I may or may not use from time to time. Other than the gifts it's every few years or so after I have worn one out.

There is nothing wrong with buying a knife or three after the bills are paid. It's way better. Than buying meth.

haha true meth is the wrong way to go hah and really? that long of a wait? i wish i could wait that long lol ima try and save up for a Sebenza

I empty the coins from my pocket at the end of the day. My coin jar feeds my habit. One or two knives a year. Maybe more maybe less,

Not as often as I like, really I find I will go months with out then I might get 2 in a short time. I have in the mail now and might pick up 1 tomorrow at a gun show. If the maker is there.

I've been on a knife buying bender lately. I've been leaning more towards fixed blades than folders for EDC, so I'm boosting my amount of good EDC fixed blades.

I usually buy in splurges... I won't buy any and then I'll buy three or four and then decide I should sell and not buy any and the cycle continues

I go in spurts. I may buy two or three in one month and then not do any for six months. Right now I am pretty happy with what I own.

I still need to pick up a few Vic Soldiers to finish out my collection though. Maybe a Ritter Griptilian or some sort of Spyderco too.

For me it just depends on when the knives I really want become available.

I might go a few months and not add anything, then I buy a few in a couple weeks.

You do have to have some control though, it can get really expensive. I never buy anything I can't pay for that month.

I buy new knives when the urge strikes me and I have adequate funds. There is no budget other than what makes sense to me and there is no time frame. I might buy 5 knives in a single month and I might not buy a knife for 5 months.

I'm pretty much the same way. I ran to the store this evening to pick up a few odds and ends before we head on vacation tomorrow and walked out with a Rat 1. I didn't need it but I'd always heard good things and curiosity got the best of me. I'll just skip a few drinks this next week to recoup the $.

On a side note I detest the Rat 2. It feels like a toy. The 1 is a completely different beast. I think I found a new work edc.

Getting married slowed me down. I'm selling or have sold a lot to make way for a $900 custom. Next is to trick out the folders I have left.

Last September/October I bought a ZT 0561, 0770cf, and a three sisters forge beast. Then a Kizer ki423 at the end of February. A southern grind spider monkey in august, a wedding present. This month, a sebenza. I'm selling the sebenza and 0770 for money for the custom.

In april of 14 I was rotating 30 ish folders. Not including what I'm selling, I have 8. I'm sending my beast in for warranty work, then selling it. As much as I want the new CPM S110v pm2, I'm just gonna deal with the frequent sharpening of the chips in the blade and go with custom scales on it.

Only knife on my radar is the spyderco bradley flipper and spyderco southard positron.

I start buying a month before Christmas and it goes from that point until the summer. Then I take a break and the cycle starts all over.

Just got into this little addiction that so many have here. I bought 4 of them today. All four were Doug Ritter Griptilians. One is a Regular Griptilian in Black for me. Love the knife and it fits nicely into the EDC rotation and the M390 blade was a bonus! One is a Pink Mini for a wedding present for the future Mrs., one was an Orange Mini for her son, who is my best man in the wedding and this will be my gift to him, and then another black mini for me. I couldn't expect them to use something I wouldn't use myself, right? ;-) Bought them through Knifeworks and had all three mini's laser etched with a message about the wedding and the date coming up. Also recently bought a ZT 0562CF as an EDC to have when hanging out with the guys. I'd like to say I'm done buying knives for a while, but once the wedding is paid off, I'm sure things will change. I'll just have to come up with more REASONS to buy them. So far I have an EDC for every occasion I can think of.

I have just upgraded to customs, so about once a year!

Cant wait ti start this. I want to buy so many customs but i am new at this and figured i should buy multiple $100 - $200 before going that high. Other than a sebenza, i want one of those asap haha

Literally as often as I can. Sometimes that's multiple in a month, sometimes I have to go on dry spells for awhile.

Good luck with this. :D I have been there. I have a knife for every conceivable purpose 2x or 3x over. And yet I'll buy more, just because.

I've gotten 4 from members on this forum this month. And I just joined. I got another 3 from forum members on a different forum.

I definitely buy in bulk in spurts when I'm looking for a new blade to fit my carry needs. I regret the day I lost my Sog Flash 2 that I got because it was available, and decent priced when I needed a knife. 6 years of carrying nothing but that, and I lost it. Now I'm on an endless quest to replace it, since they changed the design of the Flash 2 a year after I got mine, so it's not the same.
