How often do you lose pocketknives?

I haven't lost one for at least 6 or 7 years, hope that doesn't mean I'm due!

Before that, I can think of 3 or 4 in the 20ish years I've been using knives, I still have most of the ones I got as a kid.

Only once. Left it on the rear bumper of my truck. I back tracked all day looking for it to no avail.. Glad it was only a $20 folder but i liked it so much, i bought another.

I don't count anything I owned before I became an official knife knut, at about the age of 18. I seriously don't own anything I had from before that time.

Since then, I've lost 2 knives, and have had 1 stolen. I guess you could count the other 2 stolen, as I know where I dropped/left them, and they were not turned in, like they should have been.

Last time was about 5 years ago, and I'm not making those mistakes again. I ALWAYS check my pockets when leaving somewhere, and I never leave a knife loose in slacks. Jeans are okay.

Stolen: Buck 110, Alaskan Guide with S30V
Lost: Chris Reeve Mnandi in Ironwood, Spyderco Kopa Gold lip pearl

I've replaced the 110 and Kopa, but can't afford the Mnandi.

I've lost a grand total of 3 knives in the last 49 years.
1. Old Timer middleman jack.
2. buck 110.
3. SAK.

I have a feeling that my OT is somewhere in my parents house. The other two were lost in the field when I was in the Army.

all the knives i carry are somehow attached to me. either in a pouch on my belt or hooked to my beltloop. so i have never lost a knife. although ive only been carrying for about a year.

On my own, I have lost 1 knife. It was an Emerson cqc-7, went fishing on a lake. However, after three days of tearing my car and house apart, I went back and found it. Was a little muddy, but it took it down and bathed everything in wd-40 and all was good. Unfortunately, it was later "lost" to a campus pd officer who admired it. Even asked for a property receipt, his response was "what knife?".
I normally do a pocket check every time I walk through a doorway. Might look a little funny, but I haven't lost anything since I started doing it. Box cutters suck man, just get a new knife, stick a lanyard on it and check your pockets constantly.

ive lost maybe three. one i set down at work out in a field and forgot to pick back up, one fell out of my pocket and one was loaned to a bozo at work who apparently lost it for me. none were expensive.
the one i left on the ground is a reminder to pay attention to what im doing. the one a co-worker lost for me is a reminder to not loan anything you cant afford to lose. the one that fell out of my pocket i had found on the ground when i was in college about twenty years before so it seems that i just wasnt meant to keep it. sometimes its like that.

I've never lost a pocket knife but I did have an Emerson A100 keep falling out of my pocket.
The clip sits too low and 1/3 of the knife sticks out of the pocket. We were climbing at "Chutes and Ladders"
in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The knife went to the shelf soon after.:o

When I was young I used >16 I used to lose knifes all the time, always carried a cheepy. Then one day I realized that I had been carrying the same knife for 3 years( kershaw jyd2). I said hell I'm going to buy me a nice expensive knife, thats when I found BFC....

Lost a couple that I can remember. I had one clanging around in the dryer once, man what a racket.

I´m using and carrying knives for 21 years right now (when I was eight years old I got my first Vic from my dad). When I was 10 years old, I got a cheap fixed bladed knife. Made anywhere ;) I lost it in the bavarian woods, never found it again. Since then, I never lost a knife - except one F. Hartkopf, Solingen which was stolen in a pub in Munich.

I gave my son an Izula... One week later , he gets arrested for Meth.. Got him a fancy Lawyer, treatment, and the Izula is probably sitting in some LEO pocket.. I hope it's not sitting in a box in the evidence room..

My son is clean the past 2 years and doing well.

I could care less about the Izula..

Rarely ever ~knock on wood~
I've only lost 3 over the past 5 years.
A case jigbone trapper(my "friend" stole it from my house when I had him over I think...lets just say he's no longer my friend.....)
Buck 110(dropped it in the backyard...realized it a few days later...went to look for it...chopped up by the lawn mower...all I found was a piece of the blade...)
I forget the other one but I know for a fact I lost 3.......

I have yet to loose one as well ~knock on wood~
I am sure my day will come, and I am sure that the knife I loose is bound to be a really expensive custom or something, I am also sure that it will be brand new.
