How Often Do You Really Use Your EDC?

use a kershaw leek 5-10 times a day, got a gerber multi tool I use a few times a day and a beater ozark trail frame lock that I keep in my tool bag that gets used occasionally for rougher tasks

At work at least 20-30 times a day. My everyday work knife is a serrated Tasman salt. Not always for cutting sometimes just using the curved tip to pick at something or scrape plumbers putty or funk off threads. I use a long heating element at work and use my knife to straighten the burner before each piece I fabricate. Anything can be used, screw driver, chisel, proper tool whatever it may be but my knife is what is on me so thats what I use.

I used my Skyline to pop zip-ties off a jet engine inlet cover, and to make an alignment hole in the engine's fuel pump gasket.

Depends on what I have going on that day, sometimes I can go a day or two and not need it at all.

My EDC cut's the daily apple sometimes more. :)
Either a small Sebenza (blue dog tracks) or Mandi (Bocote wood inlays).

I work in a produce department of a grocery store. In theory I kind of imagined trimming vegetables in the back for most of the day. In practice I spent 7 hours in front of a cash register, finally got away to the back and pulled out my custom Phil Wilson South Fork in M390(one of 4 knives I have on me) to trim some corn for about 5 minutes before I was dragged back to the registers, kicking and screaming <_<.

I use a knife everyday and I have a small AAA flashlight in my pocket also. When I bought the flashlight for my pocket EDC, I didn't think I would use it much, was I wrong. My little flash light has turned out to be very useful and I wonder how I made it through the day without it.

Some days several times, some days enough to dull the whatever knife I have on me, some days they don't get used.

I carry and use my ZT 0551 every day. I always find a reason to get her some use. :)

Depends really, at work I have to cut boxes that have castings I need to machine, cut fabric up for rags a couple times a day to keep the oil and crud off my hands, pretty much anything that needs cutting I whip out one of my knives (even though there are box cutters i never use em lol). On weekends I always have a couple knives but they dont get used as much and usually for simple tasks so I can carry my better knives that I'd hate to scuff up bad lol.

Some weekends though when i'm getting busy around the yard or going into the woods i take a bowie or khukuri.

I EDC a folder and a Horton Necker and use them at least once a day. I'm happy if there are more chances than the one. Usually I cut plastic food bags to get to the meal, cut fruit & vegetables, trim dead skin on my fingers, open cardboard boxes, cut duct tape, loose threads, sometimes I even cut off a bush twiglet in a park for our budgie to play with. Today, we were archiving some office papers at work, so I put both the knives to a good use when many cardboard lids needed to get trimmed so they fit on the boxes

I work in food service so i am constantly breaking down boxes. Atleast 30 a shift. When the pop needs to me changed the boxes dont have flaps so you have to saw the whole thing apart and its super thick cardboard. Very fun. Also i find myself using it to open meat packages (burgers dogs or chicken). The best is making up pans of pickles because they come in huge jars that are hard to open so i stab a giant hole i. The lid. Aside from knife use leatherman gets used to straighten out metal on hood filter spacers and tighten screws on tables. Flashlight is used to come in the house when i get home late. Crazy that thats all work. At home usually only 1 time a day to open a letter. Unless i go fishing. So i would say i use my edc 5-50 times a day lol

Everyday, all the time, whether it is cutting a loose thread or opening a box or cutting hose, I always use my knife.

Whenever I am wearing pants, in the pockets are folder(s) and/or multi-tool(s), flashlight, keys, pen and handkerchief. Other stuff varies, depending on the day's requirements. My EDC items are sometimes necessary for work, but usually not. Even so, I use them all several times a day for a variety of tasks. I'm a kind of compulsive fixit guy and when I find something that needs attention either at home (e.g. loose doorknob) or away (e.g. unauthorized vegetation), I can deal with it on the spot.

Since Boy Scout days I have believed in and practiced preparedness, an attitude that has been justified many times. Although they haven't happened very often, I have experienced a few emergencies when one or more of these EDC items has saved the situation.

Not everyone follows this path. Once when I asked a guy how he was able to get through life without a Swiss Army knife, he replied that there was always somebody around that had one he could borrow. :D

i'm also an urban farmer and live way off the road. Not only do i use my knife almost daily and sometimes all day but I use my flashlight every night to check everything before bedtime. I feel naked without a folder and a flashlight in my pocket when I get up and leave the house in the morning.

My trio gets carried and used daily as well. The trio includes a SAK, stockman, and a large CS folder(usually). They get used for food prep(daily), working around the house/yard and at work as well. Just today I used my large CS folder to cut the coffee cake at work. Made the Capt. just shake his head. That was only one use among the many today.
