  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

How old are you 110 owners?

im old enough to know better but young enough to do it again ;)
i just got my first 110 about 7 years ago
my first buck was a 704 just over 20 years ago , many years later i broke the tip so i sent it to buck and they sent me a new 501 with apologies that the 704 was out of production
so in closing i blame bucks warranty and service for my obsession that started all those years ago :D

I'm 54. My first outdoor sporting equipment acquisition was a Davy Crocket coonskin cap when I was 4.

Got my 110 folder when I was about 16.

I don't own a speedo.:p

59 got my first buck in 1969 or 70 a 102.my first 110 more than twenty years ago.have 8 or 9 110's now includin four from buck custom shop three with BG42 steel and one with ats34.

I've just turned 20. I traded a Spyderco Native for a 110 a few months ago. I remember handling one a long time ago as a kid but never owning one. Since receiving it I've purchased a Buck-lite and Buck wood handled Trapper and Stockman. Also received a 112 from the forums with a broken tip. I'm real happy with both the larger folders and the slipjoints.

I'm 59 and got my first Buck as a Christmas present when I was about 12 (model 102) That would be approximately 1959. I have no idea where the knife is now. I think my mother gave it away when I went off to join the Navy. She trashed my baseball card collection too, but that's another story. :( The first Buck that I actually bought on my own was a 112 when I was 25. I still have it along with the original sheath. Great little knife.

ME TOO!!! :D
Unfortunately I no longer have mine either :(

My dad still has his first Buck knife also. a 118 Personal.
He is 59 and bought his first 110 this year. He's not a huge fan of folders but likes the 110. (only folder he owns)

I suddenly feel old.........who started this age nonsense....:D
My first Buck was a 110 two dot that I retired this past hunting season. Still in really good shape. Mainly just used in hunting season.
No telling how many 110's there are scattered around here. Guesstimate 50+
Then some fixed blades and a handfull of 300's...

I no longer have birthdays. but the daughters informed me just this evening as we got together for the wifes birthday, that I had the 26th annivessary of my 35th birthday a few months ago.  She turns 58 on Wednesday.

I am 49, got my first 110 when I was probably about 16. My first 112 when I was 49.

I am an Aires, rubenesque, dark hair turing to grey, a smoker, beer drinker, don't do drugs or liquor, don't care much for wine, Christian in faith but not overzealous, fanatic, or go to church, like walking on the beach at sunset while holding hands, puppys, reading (favorite book is "Guns, Germs, and Steel The Fates of Human Societies), having dinner at restuarants while holding hands across the table as we gaze into each other's eyes, and watching romance movies (my favorite movie is "Full Metal Jacket" then "Beaches", "Ghost", and "Love Story" in that order) next to a fire while lying on a bear skin rug in my Speedos while you hone my knives.

i am 53 and i got my first folding hunter (did not have 110 on it) when i 15 as an electricians helper before i got my drivers lisence... it sproted leggs on the job and i got another and keep it for a long time and then another and another tell i had a bunch, never sent one in tell now i had about 30 users or more,,, i used to inlay ivory in them and schrimshaw things on them but every one i did like that got stolen or traided for a brand new one,,,
now i got over 30 that are jest for pleasure not work,,, a tool of art..

well here is TMI : pices bult like a line backer with less grace cant dance or sing...
But I love to give sented oil back and foot rubs to the girls with soft music and candle light ... like to joke but missunderstood tell they get to know me,,, have not been able to find spreados at omar's tent sale as yet word was jest cause it fits dont make it right..,
love watching sunset and sunrises, fav movies- its a wonderfull life, ghost, fmj, conair, fantashia (the orgional head trip) and one flew over the cockoc's nest and it depends on who with...
bear fur itches how can you stand it!,,, like laying on straw ....
600 count satin is sooo much nicer! no fur burns....

Been 50 since 10-15.....kept my big brother's unused 110 used for him when I was about 17 (he never got it back and never asked for it either). Have purchased about 15? 20? in the ensuing years. Have 5 currently. Can't imagine NOT having one and I'll try to take one with me though I cannot imagine a Heaven that would not supply such an item in the 'welcome package'....

Good to see there are some youngsters who appreciate the beauty and function of the 110. Its future looks bright. I would hate to see it slip into obscurity and be discontinued due to lack of sales because it doesn't have a black synthetic handle, sawteeth, and a bad a## name.

I first saw a 110 when I was 11, at 13, I bought a 112 since the 110 was too big for my hands. Now at 32, I have a drawer full of 110s and some 112, all Doted and 2 Cabela's Alaskan Guide 110. My first 112 sadly is no more, a victim of its great walk and talk....... walked off with some unknown person

I'm 41.

I got my first Buck 110 somewhere in my late 20s or early 30s. Before that, I got a Buck 422 (the Bucklite with the 112 blade) while I was in college, so I would have been somewhere in the 20-21 range for that.

Before that I had a variety of copies, including a Schrade LB7 when I was 15 or 16 and a Sears knife that was probably a Camillus about the same time. Around that time I had a few Parker Cutlery copies, including a really nice one with stage scales, an Explorer Tiger Paw, and others. I lusted over Pumas then, but for some reason I was not interested in a genuine Buck 110.

Apparently it took me a while to see the light! All of those were good knives and some were great, but they're not Buck 110s.

47. Bought my first 110 back in 1971 or 1972 because a 120 that my grandfather had given me was just too big for camping/backpacking. I still have both in their original sheaths. The 110 remains a favorite user; the General is only a sentimental favorite (but a strong one).

OK, I am 31, and I got my first Buck about 9 years ago. A rubber handled Vanguard. I actually got it for somebody else, but he never used it and left it layin around, so I used it every time I needed a knife. I eventually ended up just keeping it and he never even asked about it. Hopefully I can get some more knives for Christmas, hope Santa hooks me up!

I don't know how old I was, I was in my late 30's when I got my first 110. I used it hard, and sold it a couple of years ago. I got my first Buck knife in 1991. I had Kabar's, and still do. I have seen the error of my ways, and have around 50 110's today.

I'm 51. I got my first 110 when I was 23 and used it when I was living in the woods in Alaska. I still have it, even though I sort of wrecked it using it as a chisel to make windowsills for my cabin on the Aleutian islands.
I'm in Pennsylvania now, and outside of Alaska, this is the best state of all for an outdoors guy.
I went to a Buck General fixed knife for years, and have just bought a Custom 110. Back around to the beginning, I guess!

I'm 33 ,had my first buck around 5 years old(black handled 3 blade whittler i think.)I love my bucks!
