because a busse was lucky for him the knife and only other tool he had... I think... did you have a crow bar and a come along the whole time??? :)

When I cut wood I'll typically take my saw, splitting maul and scrench. I don't know of any people who cut wood and carry a crow bar with them. Honestly i dont even own a crow bar. I have used a come along to pull a tree that leaned against another tree down but never to pull my bar free. Interesting idea though. My knife is what I had and it did the trick. When I get a bar pinched I usually put on the spare bar and chain to free it, but haven't replaced my damaged chain on the spare. Anyway thanks for reading, I'll keep that come along idea in mind and maybe take it with me next time.
Well let me be the first. Just curious, but why didn't you buy a come-along and use it to pull your bar free?Or use a crowbar? Why use a expensive knife?

No, I meant I would have left and come back with the right tool.I would not have bent my 350.00 knife. But that's just me,No disrespect..

Nope I dont like carrying extra things, never even thought of carrying a crowbar while I cut wood lol if I had a better tool for the job at the time I would have used it. Lucky for me my sob is built like a brick *$%& house.

How long before your bar gets stuck again so you can straiten out your blade?

No disrespect taken, sometimes deep in the woods I just want to continue cutting, heading home takes time. My knife allowed me to finish without a trip to the house or store. Time well saved in my opinion. But I'll pick up another chain for the spare bar for the future.

I have never had to use any of my Busses to such extreme, but it is great to know if I had to it would give it a good go.

On the Chainsaw bar, I alway carry a small bag of gear (very small). A plastic wedge is great for felling and cutting up a downed tree. Very light and sometimes invaluable.

Nobody asked but when I am using a chiansaw I carry a wedge, wrench, plug, extra bar nut, chain, stump vise and file. All in a bag about the size of a volley ball.

Glad you got your bar out. Cheers

I need a bag I can throw some stuff in like an extra bar, chain, nuts, wedges, and a canteen with water. Excellent idea. I'll be taken a trip to town tomorrow.

I've never been the type to lug stuff around but sometimes it bites me in the ass just bringing the bare essentials. Live and learn I guess. Maybe I'll get used to taking a small bag with me.

hi, op , do you have any exprience on abusing other knives before , how do you get it tough or not tough ?

i really want to know that how other knives & steels will react when treated like that , thank you for sharing man.

Lol, that probably would've worked better! Ya'll know I'm just kidding right?...... Hopefully......?........ Oh schiznit!

Only a puss who would ask to warraty that knife :D just bend it back and keep using it. I bent my SOB once similar to yours and I just bent it back to zero.

Hi dingy, Ive had fixed blades in s30v, 52100, 1095, 50100b and a few others. I never just purposely break them but have used them hard and have had several fail. If you would like to know which failed send me an email.

Hi, knife chop

I'm no metallurgical expert but bending steel back and forth will weaken the steel. But more importantly it took some serious effort to bend. I'm to lazy to try and HEman that sucker straight. Lol

thanks for sharing the "in field" experience...they are always the most informative & engaging form of evaluation, IMHO

Frankly, I'm surprised you were able to put a permanent bend on a SOB-- even with what you described

I bent mine the same way but I was prying open my wife's purse to steal her Master Card for a BIG NMFSH...:p

Infi is REALLY tough on the wallet!:D

Now your talking heavy duty tasks, prying open the old ladies purse lol

Glad you found it informative, I have a new respect and trust in this knife that can only be had from pushing the limits and seeing how she does.
