How/where do you carry your slipjoints?

Hi guys! Just getting into slipjoints now. Quick question - since most traditional/slipjoints do not have clips, bails or lanyard holes, how/where do you guys carry them? Just pop them into a pocket? Pocket sheath? Belt sheath? I'm asking cos I don't like having a knife bunch up at the bottom of a pant pocket or lying crosswise in a front jeans pocket. I'll probably look into getting a belt sheath but was wondering how everyone else does it. Cheers!

Lately I've been carrying my knives in pocket with no sheath, but I have a KSF pocket sheath I'd like to get in the habit of using more.

Just drop it in the pocket. Always right front pocket with a bandana. The bandana can be used to wad up and sort of prop the knife to where you want it. to sliding out of you're wearing dress or docker style pants.

A 3.5 incher will likely ride in my front pocket or watch pocket. My 4 inchers tend to ride vertically next to my wallet in my back pocket.

The thing I really like about traditionals is the ability to carry them in a pocket, vs. a non traditional with a clip. Knives that are Peanut size, or maybe a bit larger are perfect for a change pocket/watch pocket in jeans.

Anything over 3 3/4", I find, gets a little harder to carry in a pocket. Most days I just put the traditional knife in my pocket, and away I go. I don't really give it a second thought until I use it. :D

My Pioneer SAK knife comes with a key ring (lanyard hole) that I clip onto my car keys.

I carry all my traditionals in a leather belt sheath. Keeps my pockets free and my knife easily accessible. Belt sheaths are kind of a tradition in themselves in my neck of the woods down here in Texas.

I've just been dropping mine in my left front pocket. I would like to try one of those KSF pocket sheaths sometime, just don't have any knives to order to get one right now.

Vic Alox Cadet - right front pocket. If I happen to be carrying something else, left rear pocket vertically beside wallet.

I either carry in my right front pocket in a slip or on my belt in one of two sheaths from a maker in north Texas.

I'm a casual guy, so blue jeans and a t-shirt is pretty much my uniform anymore. I always carry two slipjoints, my primary knife that's about 3.5" to 3 7/8" (closed) that's just loose in the bottom or my right front pocket (nothing else in the pocket with it). Then I have a small traditional around 2.75" closed, either my yellow Peanut or my Pemberton, in my watch/change pocket.

Personally my style of dress and the way my pants - jeans - fit I've never had a problem with knives slipping out of my pockets, but some guys do have this occur with tragic results sometimes (a lost Precious!!), so pay close attention to what style pants you wear as some seem to do this a lot more frequently than others. I believe dress slacks are notorious for this. As jackknife said above, he remedies this with a folded hankie stuffed down into his RF pocket to keep the knife where he wants it to stay.

I do have a simple handmade folded leather slip that I made and it works great in fact. Keeps your prettier Sunday-go-to-Church knife looking all shiny and keeps the knife in place a bit better too sometimes if loose in the pocket annoys you.

Alox SAKs usually go into a kydex necker and some trads go into traditional neckers.

Everything else into various pockets.

I'm not a super fan of slip joints. I like fixed or lock back traditionals better myself. I think in the past have cut myself to many times with slip joints to give them a whole lot of pocket time or use anymore. But still like them. This is a slip joint i won in a GAW from meako. Thanks again meako! Have had in my pocket last 4 days. I do like it a good bit and the fact it traveled half way around the world and the generosity of the GAW also won't let me ever let it go. Been carrying in right pocket and don't really like having a knife carry loose and having it clunk around in the pocket. Especially one that the handle is 5 in. in length. What somebody said about about wrapping in bandana is a good idea. Would probably be more willing to carry one if had a slip joint with d2 or s30v or something. But do like them just don't get a used a ton from me. God the bugs out here are horrible stop moving for 20 seconds and you"ll have 30 skeeters on you.

Watch/coin pocket if I'm wearing jeans. Some of my dress slacks for work actually have a little mini pocket sewn into the right front pocket which works perfect for keeping a slip joint separated from my keys but on my other pants that don't have that little pocket in there I use a GEC leather pocket sleeve. The sleeves tend to drive my nuts though because I hate having to pull it out then get my knife out of the sleeve plus it tends to shift sideways in my pocket and along with my keys makes a big bulge in my pocket that bugs me. I need to have somebody sew those little pockets into all of my dress slacks just haven't got around to it.
