All right, i have reservations on this one, but i sold a couple of knives and pulled the trigger for it. I am concerned that its too big for me, bit the design is unique so i need to try one.

Cool. Let us know what you think when you have a chance to put it through its paces (sorry couldn't resist)
Thanks for the review. Sorry it wasn't a better fit for you. Cool looking knife though.Just unboxed the Hundred Pacer about 30 minutes ago. Here are my initial thoughts.
1. It is huge. Bigly huge.
2. For it's size, it surprisingly light.
3. It feels fantastic in hand.
4. I'm not sure what this knife actually wants to be. It's big, but it isn't over built like we've come to expect from big knives and it would not be my first choice for a lost in the woods knife. It isn't exactly robust with the thin blade and liner lock. It isn't an EDC due to its large size, both in the pocket and out of it. It could be a great kitchen / camp knife but certainly isn't marked that way. It could be a great skinner or hunting knife but as big as it is, and with the detailed scales, it wouldn't be my first choice to gut a deer with.
5. Feels a bit over priced.
6. Feels like it was based on art over function.
So, what the hell is this knife supposed to be? I mean it's sharp and can cut things, but this isn't a pocket knife, it isn't a survival knife, it isn't a hunting knife, it isn't a kitchen knife. It's a knife and a big ass one at that and maybe it doesn't have a niche, but I'd guess Spyderco didn't produce this because the designer is a nice guy. They had to believe it would sell. But why would it sell?
I love the design. Fit and finish is perfect. It's a great caricature of the snake. It would be a great EDC if it were smaller, let's call it a 50 or 75 Pacer.
Anyway, I'm going to live with this for a bit, carry it as I can and I'll update after I get some life experience with it.
Maybe if we get lucky, I'd love to know Sal's thoughts on this knife beyond the "Hundred paces and you are dead" story.
yep. even the size of the whole knife..... you adjust to it eventually. it wont look or feel so big unless you got another with ya and swap back and forth. glad ya had a good run with it today. hopefully turns into a good long run for ya.After a day in the pocket, man, this thing carries well. It's light and isn't as bulky in the pocket as you'd think.
I am impressed how well it carries.
Yay, i have one on the way!
I have a Chinook 3. Not the only reason not to get a 4. Because I can't wrap my brain around why the 4 is tip up only!^maybe i should start pushing the chinook 4 on folks. heavily overlooked knife due to blade shape as well. man is it a great knife.
