hundred pacer who got one whos getting one...

I have a Chinook 3. Not the only reason not to get a 4. Because I can't wrap my brain around why the 4 is tip up only!
The Chinook has been multiposition clip since it abandoned the Military clip, which I contend is the best version.
I was really excited for the Powerlock too. Tip-up only completely ruined it! WTF
Damn it Spyderco! I know I'm going to get a Chinook 4 anyway.

yeah i get that. doesnt bother me. the power lock is great and well worth putting up with clip that isnt multi setup. course ya got a 3 already and its no slouch.

Id like to get a Hundred Pacer.

About the size; I was surprised, that some would find it 'hugely big' ...
....but then I bought a K2 when they got discounted from KC or BHQ.

THATS a big folder.

Guess it depends on, which folder size, one is used to.

I'm typically a 3" blade folder guy, any thing much beyond that for EDC and I struggle with it. The Hundred Pacer for me is hugely big.

Yes and I have absolutely no use for it (I have a Millie) - I just had to have the K2.
When they dumped the price, it was a no brainer.

I wanted the K2 for my exclusive steak knife. That's how it's served for years now. The petina is only from steak and Lobster.

im a k2 fan as well. own a couple of them when they discounted them. its size shock fades as you get used to it...just like hundred pacer will as time goes on.

I should have stayed off this thread. Now I'm going to have to get the 100 Pacer as well as go on a search for a K2. I first saw the K2 and thought "Jez, that thing is huge!!". But... I carry a Military all the time and everybodys first impression of a Military is "Jez, that thing is huge!!", so maybe a K2 would work for me. My first thought after seeing the 100 Pacer was it was the Lil Temp Rhino's big brother. I and not my savings account thank everybody for the comments/reviews.

I love the hundred pacer for sure but I'm not sold on that pricetag for those materials. If I see a better steel in a spring it's all mine. The action on her is slipperier than some sort of genetically engineered weasel and I was amazed that a knife without ceramic bearings and this type of lock could slap out instantly like that.

I really like the way this Viper feels in my hand. I can feel the technology and forethought put into the shape of the grip. The grip settles into my palm in a very natural way. And if I choke up on the blade you can see all of my fingers fit in the grip as if it was shaped to do so. Additionally the thickness at the pinky finger lends itself to maintaining consistent pressure for slicing all the way to the tip.

It’s a really interesting design. I wish I took a look at it before the MAP increase.

Me too man, I really like the snakeskin handle and the blade shape is really unique. As much as I like it I know I won't carry a ~ 4" bladed knife. Very cool tho

Steel has a taste for blood.

It's a little wide in closed position. How does it carry compared to say a Manix2 ?
Sorry, I've never handled a manix. I feel that it carries between a military and a K2. I think it's much lighter than a K2 but a little bulkier than the military.
I don't carry anything else in my knife pocket. Size/bulk has never been an issue for me
