25!!!! 25!!!!! 25!!!! 25!!!! Who else is as eager and excited as I am. Maybe we will get a pleasant surprise and CRK heat treat the blade to 60-61 rc.

I'm with you, If CRK uped the Hrc to 60:thumbup: I think alot of people would be happy, myself included.

Cant wait ,as for heat treat who knows maybe they will go for 60 rc but will chip more.Large 25 is gonna be great but the one I will be more excited is small 25.:)

Im excited as all get out...even MORE to see what they go with as far as inlays(single like the regular or double like the 21)

I actually have two sebs at 60 (s35 and s30).... never had a chipping issue. I think 60 is a good target for S35. Holds a great edge!

Ive used both steels, and have been satisfied with both. I wouldn't complain if the hardness was bumped up a bit though.

I am waiting for the call telling me that my 25 is ready. (Yeah, I know it is still a ways off.)

Chip, more? As opposed to what? S35VN at 60-61 has MORE than enough toughness to resist chipping in all but the harshest situations.

I don't get this extreme, unwarranted phobia of chipping.

S35VN is improvement over S30V and has better resistance in edge chipping but we will see with rc 60-61.It is after all a good steel but not a super steel IMO.I love Chris Reeve knives ,would love to see them in S90V,would be the perfect combination. And no there is no phobia here just plain conversation.

I have a few bits of s90v here just now, I'm really thinking strongly about doing a blade for my Umnumzaan in s90v.

I liked the 25 when I saw the proto at BLADE and will try and pick one up once they arrive. The new super shallow hollow grind should make for a real nice performing knife.

Do you have any experience with S35VN at 60-61rc to substantiate that we WILL see chipping at those hardnesses?

I only ask because I do in fact have experience with S35VN, on two different blades which both Rockwelled at 60.5. I cut tons of rope and copper wiring with each, and neither had any chipping to speak of. And yes, both blew CRKs S35 out of the water in terms of edge retention and resistance to deformation. (rolling)

I got one each variation of a lg and small 21, will not be getting more knowing the 25 is around the corner. Im not a first adapter kind of guy for plenty of reasons however, so my first 25 may still be even up to a few years off. No worries, these 21's aren't exactly bad knives hehe.

Well, I guess the knife Gods like me today. My 25 is on its way to me!!!!! Heather gave me a call today and told me that since I am her favorite on here that she wants me to get mine soon.:D

No call for me, but I called Heather and asked where I was on the list? She said she was not sure and not really sure of timeline til the next group came out but she said that about 30 were shipping out and she told me the name of several of the dealers that were getting them. So I called one of the dealers and they agreed to presell me one so I can have a second to join my prototype.

Also, Heather said that there haven't been any changes between the prototypes and the final production model that she knew of. That being said, everyone should be happy! Cause I have used the heck out of my prototype and love it!

Anybody know the pricing on it? Will it be $410 when things settle down? Or are "gas prices" gonna affect the 25 also?
