I broke my cold steel Spartan!!!!!

if i did not care i would at least get a new knife not open it and sell it as new on ebay for a little cheaper and get at least some of the money back that is deff worth the money

i think he knows that if he sent it into cs they would see something that he is not showing us, and not give him a new one.

I'd say the OP no longer cares because he thinks he has accomplished what he set out to do in the first place.

I'll stand by this
I got out of it what little money I put into it

It went camping quite Afew times, it served me well, it got carried everyday, and now I'm past that

I now carry much fewer blades than i did before and I have no place for a knife more than 4" that's not a fixed blade(which IS ok)

And honestly id rather not loose the work I've put into it even if it's no longer functional(which it is- its like a slipjoint on the loose side)
You can't see in the pictures the filework(symbols not the typical stuff) the polished areas on the the spine and bevels the aggressive reprofile I did to the blade(the f'ing thing was chisel ground) and the chips and scratched from the use it's been through with me

Id rather keep it as a memento than get ride of it and get a free new unscathed knife that won't get used the same way...

Maybe no one thinks like I do but I have trouble parting with knives(even broken ones)- I still have the blade(all that's left:P) of my very first knife- it's in a pouch with my buck 112

As I said nothing more is happening- when it first broke I was kind of bothered and lost- I'm past that

It's over- screw the BS and your opinions, I'm keeping it unless I suddenly really need to replace it

Great mind set! It'd be nice if more people shared that sense of value.

But,

Cold Steel probably would want to know about the failure, and for many companies that won't get noted unless they shell out for an RMA. Its awesome that you think you've gotten your use out of the knife, but cold steel does sell its products as being virtually bullet proof, and I'm sure they'd like to know that their product failed.

As a non CS fan I mean that in no negative light, its just that if the people responsible don't know of a problem, they can't fix it. (for instance if they have some wierd issue with their supplier sending them steel with air pockets or something)

Personally I'll never carry a spartan, its just not my cup of tea, but if I made a product, and it failed doing what I designed it to do I'd sure want to be made very aware of it.

Well I've sent cold steel a rather detailed message in the past(which was never responded to) and talked indirectly with some one about it at cold steel
