I.C.C.E What are you bringing to K.C.

Thank everyone. I think this is going to be a fun show.
Bill sorry you won't be there I hope nothing to concerning.

Steve

that is one fine looking folder Don. Nice contrast of materials. Don -- Just came across the fighter. WOW!! very nice. Like Roger, I will miss the show but we will see in the future. Up to now I have not stopped adding pieces and later in the year will post those acquired. Even Roger has not seen them all.

Gary -- please enjoy the BBQ and it is just as well that I am not going to be tempted as let me just say you would not recognize me from the last you have seen me. I will let Roger explain lol.

I love the shape of the knife Don, the reverse-mirror effect created by the blade point together with the butt of the handle gives the piece a great flow both in open and in closed position.
The blade's damascus pattern is gorgeous, but maybe would have worked better on a larger blade, imho looks a bit "zoomed" for the size, loosing something on the pile side.

Don, you are my hero. Your designs are inspiring, your steels are amazing, and your versatility seems limitless. Looking forward to meeting you in K.C.

Bob

The Hanson Pirate folder has evolved into a very high class folder! Love the pearl and damascus, Don!! Johnny Depp needs to check that one out!

And the fighter is fantastic. Great flow, love that result.

Steve, two superb bowies! Anxious to see you and handle those at the show.

Bill, will miss you in K.C. Hope all is well with you.

It is about a week and counting for this to happen. Looking forward to it.

Stezann, thanks. I know what ya mean about the damascus pattern, but I do think it works on this piece.

Bob, I looks forward to meeting you also. Thanks.

Good stuff here guys. Don that pearl pirate folder is off the charts! So very unique in the folder market.

I had some pressing things come up as well and won't be able to attend either. I'm really bummed. I was looking forward to meeting a bunch of you guys and seeing these great knives.

I guess it saves me from having to buy Don's pearl folder for my wife because that would be a 'MUST HAVE' for her. :)

Here is my first knife actually 100% complete, with sheath, etching, etc.
They are all built, just most still need final touches prior to photography.
Here is an Ironwood Hunter.
I took the pictures out in broad daylight with a clear blue sky.
Just 'cause.
So, the blade has a bit of a blue tinge to it. But it looks normal.

The blade is 4 7/16", W2 w/a hamon.
The handle is the single most exquisite piece of Ironwood I've ever had. The "squiggles" running throughout the material just have no end to them.
She's a take-down and for this knife I used my four-pin finial that I have not used in years.

See ya'll in KC:

Lord willing, I will be there Thursday through Saturday. Didn't go to Blade and it has been an INSANE summer for me - pretty much the whole year in fact. The house remodel should finally be done by the end of this week (yea!), so I am looking forward to this show as (hopefully) a fun break. I am returning from KC on Saturday and will be flying right back out of town to Kalifornia on Monday, but I will try to post up a review on Sunday if time allows.
