• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I.C.C.E What are you bringing to K.C.

Here's one for my table. A carbon steel Loveless style. I made this one in a hidden tang. It's a loose interpretation but it sure feels good in the hand. The blade is 3-3/4 inch and the OAL is 8-1/2 inch. Brown Micarta and stainless.

Wow!! Karl that's beautiful!! Kris, I see why you want to see it. I hope I get to handle that one before it's gone.

Here's a commemorative Bowie of the show that I will be donating to the ABS at the show. The proceeds from the sale of it will go 100% toward the tuition for an Intro to Bladesmithing class at The Moran School for a deserving youth(s).

You will be able to view the knife on the ABS table at the show. I have left the terms of the sale completely up to the ABS board but that should be determined at the show.

Whomever purchases this knife will not only be getting a nice remembrance of the inaugural show but helping a youth to get a start in this business that we all love.

Hot damn, Karl, you are bringing the heat!

Just a little more 'heat':
A Gidgee Fighter. Single Twist, stainless take-down hardware and a spectacular chunk of Ringed Gidgee.
This is also the second knife I've made with my old pin assembly that I have not used for maybe 5 years.
(As a side note - my Damascus is hot-blued. These pictures are taken outside on a crystal clear blue-sky day and the sky is reflected in the 15N20. I like the way it looks in the photo. But that's just me.)

Here are a couple of bird and trouts for the show.

Sparrow Hawks - same bird, different plumage.

Green Sparrow Hawk
Steel: Parkerized O1
Overall Length: 8.5 inches
Blade Length 3.875 inches
Ferrule: Mild steel & Black G-10
Handle: Green Linen Micarta

Koa Sparrow Hawk
Steel: Hand-sanded O1
Overall Length: 8.5 inches
Blade Length: 3.875 inches
Ferrule: Penned bronze & Black G-10
Handle: Curly Koa

Look forward to seeing everyone.

Great stuff showing up on this thread! Looking forward to the show!

Just a heads up for those driving in Thursday, especially from the east. The Denver Broncos and K.C. Chiefs have a Thursday night football game at Arrowhead. Traffic will really be backed up on I-70 east & west Thursday afternoon, evening.

Even coming up from the south on I-435 to I-70 will be slow close to game time.

Good excuse to arrive early. :)

Good idea. I plan on being there early enough to go to the reception Thursday evening so I can get a good look at the knives since I will be behind a table for the show and may not get the chance to see everyone's work.

Kevin--Thanks. It's appreciated.

Karl, the fighter is really nice if the blade has near the shimmer in person as it does in the photos its a for sure hit.

The crow factor looks way high. "Make it shinny they will pick it up"

Gary, gorgeous knife, fine steel ... but mostly you make a very nice gesture! compliments.

This is my last knife, then I close the blades in my Pelikan bag, waiting for arrivals Thursday....

One of Kyle's. W2/15N20 damascus & iron wood.

A Bowie for delivery there. Tapered frame handle, damascus & fossil walrus.

And another pearl folder, slip joint this time. :D

Plain bowie, W2, damascus fittings & fossil walrus. With plain Paul Long sheath. Plain probably not the right word?
