unfortunately sober. also using iPad in front of the fire for a casual and toasty evening (it's quite cold here)... the iPad has auto-correct and caps and all that crapola turned on, so... caps.

why not caps? because, the internet doesn't need them but full sentences are still easier to code with. it's like computer language ;) case sensitive.

So all your posts are sequences in a coding scheme to hack the Finnish lutefisk supply chain?

Amanda and I are going out ruffed grouse (partridge) hunting today. Hell, if I see a turkey I might try for one of those too.

I love fall.newish me luck guys!

What does any of that have to do with Firefly? :D

Yea i had nothing to add about firefly. Its been quite a while since i have seen it. I tried to remember back but i keep getting flashbacks of a phone booth... Dr. who im guessing....

At some point they all blend together...

:p

:D

This thread might be a nerdfest, but it's damn entertaining. And I'm still watching (slowly) Firefly on Netflix. So far, it's awesome.

This post is awesome. I am so glad you are in a place you love rather than Filthadelphia, brother. Amen to the church of the open sky.

I shot my bow this afternoon, too. Trigger on the release was a mite too hair and one went into the woods behind the shed. Must have hit it accidentally and also hit the shed roof with another. Found the second one.....and one of the girls' arrows that I thought was in the shed (hiding under the riding mower) but apparently has been sitting in the brush for a couple months. Archery is fun.

Went and visited with Jim Bensinger at the Manchester Gun & Knife show. Brought home a bit of new 1095:

plus handled and drooled over a bunch of his other knives.

Thanks brother!! I almost feel guilty for how happy i am these days. Its all simple stuff... But its the simple stuff that i love.

Archery is awesome. I just need another longbow with less poundage or a better recurve really. The Bear AuSable lonbow i have is awesome. I love the bow, how it feels and looks.... But it says 46 pounds... Guess im just a weakling because after 10 shots or so my arms DONE LOL. I have a recurve thats only 25 pounds as well... REALLY easy to shoot.... But i dont like that bow as much LOL

Going to try out a 40# compound this coming weekend i think... Grandfather's compound, but i want to see how it shoots. Trying to find the right bow for turkey hunting with my brother in law. Im not really that into hunting.... But ill give it a try... BIL keeps trying to talk me into it.

Thats a sweet little knife too!! Great score.

Luck on the grouse. Have seen lots but have either had no gun or a had bow in my hand. I walked out of my shack and had a grouse 10 feet away from me. Saw a couple in a tree while sitting in my stand too. When I go back out bow hunting this week bringing gun for sure. I could have maybe shot them with bow or M&P 40.

Got my first bow not too long ago and totally agree WW. They are friggin fun even if you don't plan on hunting. The most I have shot in a day was probably 200 times 65#'s.Next morning couldn't pull string back until warmed my shoulders up. It will wear you out for sure.

While he's hacking supply chains, may as well add Scotland's haggis supply as well... :D

Stop flirting. I'm not your type.

I posted this in the Snark a couple weeks ago and believe the Gunyon missed it...

I've been yanking Bladite's chain lately, now for the Gunyon...

I got this e-mail today from Pillsbury (I'm on their mailing list) and immediately thought he could add this to his waffle fetish...

The Western Omelet Stuffed Biscuit Waffle

It's a two-fer...waffles made from biscuit dough. Although I would use bacon instead of ham...

WW, your archery muscles will build quickly. They're underutilized in most people. Mine is a 72#, and it's hell to string. It gets quite tiring to draw quite fast. Bear in mind (pun intended) that recurves and longbows etc, will feel considerably different to draw at the same poundage than a compound.

New GAW posted up - Dog Poop Bingo

I posted "I'm in" in your dog-poop-bingo GAW thread because it's a great idea, and it's a great knife. I applaud you community-spirit and generosity! I have not yet decided if I will be taking advantage of the two extra chances I technically could have, according to your rules. Because I don't really need it, and it would be super cool if someone who does need it, gets it.

Regardless, if I win it, the odds of me keeping it are verrrry low. The chances of it getting gently refurbished and Terrio-ized and being fitted for custom leather pants and being given-away again, are very high. :)

This is impressive!

I was doing research on different bow makers and ran across a man named Paul schafer, he is considered by many to be one of the best bow hunters in the world. Well the recurve he made for himself had a 94# draw weight

FIREFLY IS TERRIBLE ON NETFLIX!!!

Beg, borrow, or steal the box set of DVDs. It makes a difference. Really. It's like the director's cut of Bladerunner without the narration, and in the correct order.

I shot a 60# Howard Hill long bow for many years and can attest to this fact. I think it's also one of the reasons my shoulders are so bad today.

I ended up getting two hen turkeys today with one shot. No I didn't plan it that way, but I am happy that it did.

3 1/2 turkey shells are awesome!

Pics maybe later. I have some work that needs to get done since I played all day.

Congrats! That's awesome dude! :)

Last time I tried to get even one turkey with one shot... everybody got pissed off and skeert, the cops were called, handcuffs happened... and I'm not allowed anywhere near that grocery store anymore :(

Sexy full grind 15 Cbear!

Archery is fun.

Grats on the Turkeys Jeremy!

I don't think you have to shoot the turkeys if they are already dead in the store JT. The turkeys in the store however....fair game if they try to lift your wallet. :D

Oh! and I almost forgot. I picked up a box of ready bake "Red Lobster' style biscuits today. Figured they would be fun to jazz up with some additional cheddar.
