Firstly, I just wanna say EFF all you Americans for having the right to have AWESOME firearms and talking about ammo and such. EFF you guys for having a rock solid constitution with a rock solid 2nd ammendment. EFF you guys for your your semi autos, large clips, massive sized ammo.. :D

But seriously, and I mean this in all genuine seriousness, DO NOT EVER give up your God given right to own firearms friends. Our overlords (guvvenment) took that right from us before I had a chance to be a thoughtful firearm owner and I'll never forgive the sheeple that allowed that to happen. My dad always had guns (and if you ever saw them your jaw would slacken, he loved them more than life) and he was FORCED to give them up and watch them put under a hydraulic press.

His 1972 (?) Beretta 12ga. Auto, very similar to this ^ (except that it had had custom, hand engraved GOLD on the receiver, made in Italy) was put under the press in front of him. It was his pride and joy. Used for duck hunting every weekend during the season, it truly was a work of art. I used it once at a trap range when I was twelve. Almost took my shoulder off. It had a hand made mahogany case with the Beretta insignia carved into it. He stood in line with men that had AKs, AR15s, SKSs, one bloke had a Vietnam Era M60. EVERYONE of them DROOLED at the Beretta dad had including the Police that were destroying the weapons. He literally shed tears at what happened. Not just because he had to sacrifice his most loved possession, but at the fact we were FORCED to change who we are as a country, because the government thought they had the right to make up our minds for us. 1996 was not only one of the worst mass shootings in history (Port Arthur, look it up), but it was the day Australia changed its identity.

Mods, I know this crossed into the realms of 'politicism' but the Becker forum has a very patriotic stance here and I wanted to share my thoughts on this matter. Ok, I'll shut up now..

I forgot to mention (obviously NOT shutting up :D), not long ago my dad, who has Parkinsons Disease, had a really shitty day. He called up my best friend from high school who is a registered nurse in a Psych ward. When Dave asked him if everything was ok my dad replied "..it's one of those days where I could eat a bullet". Well. Dave hit the panic button and next thing you know 6 heavily armed SWAT members kicked in my folks door thinking he was going to kill himself. Dave knew that my old man had firearms so he did what he thought was the right thing to do. And he did. Dave did the right thing. But it resulted in my poor old dad having his LEGAL firearms taken from him and having to undergo psychological tests. He'll now never own guns again. Which means I'll never own my inheritance. I love that you fellas love your guns. It makes me sad reading how much fun you have with them though. Please don't stop taking about them. I really enjoy googling pics of the guns you guys talk about. Just wanted to share all this with you as I know you'll have an understanding about it.. and now, back to your regularly scheduled snarkrammimg.

lol

we have limits in the USA, but still some crazy fun times

though some idiots are trying to take those again

they will fail

good

that said, there's a lot of guns under glitter strewn tilled fields and fence posts

There's a lot of guns under our tilled fields here as well, believe me. I'm sure one day they'll be unearthed. Come the zombie apocalypse..

No. this "Dave" guy EFFed up. big time.

he owes you.

if you forgive him, fine?

here? i would bankrupt him, his heirs, and his grandchildren for all time. that is EFFed up.

overreaction, with consequences that cannot [easily/ever] be undone.

not right.

Holy crap, that's a monster slingshot.

That's not even his biggest one by a long shot. Pun intended.

BeeKay, if you ever get the chance to come to the states, you have an open invitation to come to my place and I'll take you out and you can play with my toys. I know a guy with a Barret .50 too so I might be able to arrange for you to shoot that.

I was going to make a similar offer if you ever make it to central Texas. Can't guarantee a Barrett, but lots of other toys available.

Man it's a clear beautiful night! Seen a couple shooting stars

I started that message last night sitting on the deck, around 3am or so... Then around 430 I woke up... Still on the deck under the beautiful sky... But covered in morning dew. Which is, at least, better than mountain dew.

BeeKay... There likely isn't that much of a variety of guns here as what's at Hoss and GSO places, but if you make it to Florida, after visiting them, I could show you how we party in the backwoods!

Bring an extra liver.

Oh yea.... If you do come this way, bring me a straw hat from down under too please. Not one from the airport... I want one from some country shack deep in the outback :D

Heading up the mountain to the top of Devils Gulch on many miles of old fire roads, in a 90s GMC Rally and I'm in the back with the bikes. Prayers would be appreciated. :D

Bigghoss, GSO and WW. Thank you kindly for the invites. I'd LOVE to take you all up on that offer one day. T'would be grand. WW I'll find you the back countryest straw hat I can find.

Bladite. It did take me a while to understand what Dave did was what he was trained to do. As for the SWAT Team? Yeah, defs overboard. However, my mum and dad both understand what he did and they don't hold any grudge against him. Guess I'll just have to pack up the missus and the soon-to-be baby girl and move to the states. And believe me, I'd have no problems with doing that. I love it over there..

Biscuit, you're welcome in the 'pit' anytime.. :p

Well I just need to make it through this shift tonight and I'll be off for two weeks. By the end of the year I'd have about 80 hours of use-or-lose vacation time so I have to burn it up. Gonna try and set up a work bench and organize some stuff around the apartment and maybe do some more exploring. Blew most of my money on guns and stuff so no elaborate trips but Four Corners monument is about a 6 hour drive away so I'll probably try to go hit that. And I have some Old Hickory knives I haven't tried out yet, a 14" butcher machete and a cleaver so I'll go play with those and get some video of it.
