i love this talk about tarting up a 10/22 :D

though i'd consider an AR 22 instead? more modular... more tarty.

or a dozen other options

seems like by the time you tart it out, it's not even a 10/22 anymore except in theory

huh

Question: When you guys watch tests of knives what things do you want to see the blades do? Making tent stakes I think is a decent test of a knife's carving abilities so I usually do one of those. I'm thinking I should have a standard gambit of tests to put each blade though to get a good idea of what it can do. So maybe a "one stick" fire, a few tent stakes and delimbing a few larger branches would pretty much cover it, right?

Absolutely! And afterwards we should enjoy a few beers from our Beckerhead growlers!

I'm down! I tried two more kinds from my local brewery the other day. Finished up the last of it today :D their 'Red' and their October special (pumpkin spice, oregano, and nutmeg).

Hoss,

The Parangatang has been one of the best performers that I have owned. If your saying the 21 is neck and neck with it thats pretty high praise.

We will make this happen!

Personally, I'm a big fan of testing a blade in the application(s) for which it was originally designed. I realize that larger blades will not excel at small detail work and smaller blades will, for the most part, be lesser choppers. I would suggest you focus on the blades core intended purpose(s) and highlight any secondary categories in which they show some promise.

Does this make sense?

We were so hoping to make it, but Christine's work schedule crushed those plans. We ended up spending this weekend with Ethan. What an incredible host.
Even better then you didn't need to put up with the hooligans :)

you missed a good time - fire, hammers, and hot metal
RR spike and cold metal
blackberry shine

I feel like I should say where I've been hiding for this past year or so. I bit off more than I could chew with things going on in life. So I had to step away from here for a while. I never notice how much I miss it until I come back. I've stepped away from things that took up way too much of my life and I'm slowly finding my way again. I do still make sheaths from time to time when I get orders. My hope is that I will be able to start making more as I find a more permanent place to live. Apartment living isn't the greatest for a craftsman.

I've considered getting a M&P 15-22, but for some reason I keep coming back to the 10/22.

I think I'm going to get a 10/22 takedown, and an adtac rm4 stock, then throw on a che bipod and the monopod. then I think I'll start saving up for some tech sights and a bull barrel

Yes, they are both very good performers.

You Canadians and your being logical and whatnot. "Oh let's use the simpler metric system! Oh, lets use tools for what they were intended for!" Pssh. :p

Just finished editing the video and now it's saving and then I have to upload it and add a couple annotations where I kept saying the Kukri Machete was made by the wrong manufacturer, so it'll be a few hours yet before it's published and ready to watch. It's an hour long but I think it's all relevant. Unless you're Gmoney and don't want to see a 14" blade make a tent stake. lol

Bigghoss,

I have a hard time watching knife reviews with people doing too much stuff. Basically, give me the low down. Point out some highlights, talk to me about ergos, test the claims, explain who/what the knife was designed for, maybe give a price point comparison to other popular knives in the same catigory, then talk about if it has any missed opportunities in the design in your opinion.

Also, some people who do reviews just don't have the technique to make the knife look good and will not admit it, then they blame the knife or designer instead.

I want to start doing more reviews on my channel too. Maybe down the road.

Jeremy
