I'm gonna agree with dres on this one....I like fairly short and to the point reviews. The hardest part about the one I just did for the 710 BK-5 sheath was to leave relevant (but lengthy) shtuff out....I had 20 minutes of footage, but even trying to watch 7 minutes of it (first cut) seemed too long. That's me, tho.....IMO it's a lot more effective at 5 to 10 minutes (max). And I'm not really a short attention span kinda guy. There are just so many ways one can say "it cuts stuff good". Still, if you post it, I will watch....but if it's long, I'll probably skip through some of it ;).

Yes, they are both very good performers.

You Canadians and your being logical and whatnot. "Oh let's use the simpler metric system! Oh, lets use tools for what they were intended for!" Pssh. :p

Just finished editing the video and now it's saving and then I have to upload it and add a couple annotations where I kept saying the Kukri Machete was made by the wrong manufacturer, so it'll be a few hours yet before it's published and ready to watch. It's an hour long but I think it's all relevant. Unless you're Gmoney and don't want to see a 14" blade make a tent stake. lol

lol! Nicely done, sir! Looking forward to the vid. I suspect it will be incredibly informative!

Bigghoss,

I have a hard time watching knife reviews with people doing too much stuff. Basically, give me the low down. Point out some highlights, talk to me about ergos, test the claims, explain who/what the knife was designed for, maybe give a price point comparison to other popular knives in the same catigory, then talk about if it has any missed opportunities in the design in your opinion.

Also, some people who do reviews just don't have the technique to make the knife look good and will not admit it, then they blame the knife or designer instead.

I want to start doing more reviews on my channel too. Maybe down the road.

Jeremy

I can do that. I started out doing more shootout type stuff. Head-to-head comparisons but those tend to get pretty lengthy. Might be better to focus on one blade at a time.

By all means, skip or fast forward. It's an hour long and you probably don't care about some of the knives I showed or about every single thing I talked about.

Thanks for the advice JT. :D

We arrived safely in Myrtle Beach last night at about 1 AM. This morning we went to see a bunch of big lizards with sharp teef. :D Then we got back to the beach and jumped in the Atlantic. :D Now we just need to find some shark teef and I think my cousin and I are gonna try to get a few blue crabs to cook up. :)

BK21 sheath. best worn on left hip, cross draw. doesn't work for me while logging. at all, otherwise, might work slipped in a belt, didn't try.

too tangly and cumbersome otherwise. can't use with gloves.

well made, safe. might convert to dangler.

short. to the point.

blade review later.

I've considered getting a M&P 15-22, but for some reason I keep coming back to the 10/22.

I think I'm going to get a 10/22 takedown, and an adtac rm4 stock, then throw on a che bipod and the monopod. then I think I'll start saving up for some tech sights and a bull barrel

SIG 522 === perfection ;)

target? get a Savage with Accutrigger. complete. throw on a proper mount for bipod, and bobs your uncle.

though, seriously, bipod? rest? shoot offhand, like god intended.

:)

their target model does 100 meters and pops M&Ms with federal accumatch. what more do you need?

< $500?

I hardly ever use any sort of rest, usually only when I'm sighting in a rifle, and I never use on when hunting, probably never will, but I just think it would be a fun thing to have

As promised.

My son and I attended the local gun and knife show this weekend. My son buys a pistol crossbow with his allowance money, figured it would be fun to shot at targets in the shop, we strung it up, I set a 3/4in. thick cardboard target about 6in. in front of my one of my tools boxes. I shoot the target, damn thing doesn't even act like the cardboard was there, goes all the way through my steel tool box drawer and stops at back of the arrow. HOLY SHIT! We both look at each other! Had no idea the thing was that strong. In no way is this thing a toy! . We decided we wouldn't tell mom about it.
This is great, reminds me of my childhood. Used to have one and caused all sorts of chaos with it. Would make my own bolts out of K'nex/pencils/wood or whatever it would shoot. The varmints didn't know what hit them! When you grow up out in the middle of nowhere you "find" stuff to do. Then one day it just dissappeared... which I now know means my dad decided I didn't need it lol. Almost bought one the other day for giggles but then I remembered!

As I've said before, been having a bad cough since a couple of weeks and I couldn't get rid of it. Meds didn't cut it and since last Thursday things have gotten worse. Decided to go back to the Doc this morning. He did a thorough check up, took some x-rays of my lungs, measured O2 level etc. Results are in: beginning of pneumonia. That really, really blows. Hooray for antibiotics as well as 5 other pills. Not allowed to go to work.

Anyway, better reframe the whole thing: more time to sharpen my knives? Yet too weak to actually go out and use 'em. I hope I'll be able to go out and at least start a little fire or something by the end of the week.

Oh no, that's no fun... I'm right there with you. I'm going on 9 days with an awful cough and all that gunk... woke up this morning feeling like I had been hit by a train full of bricks on fire. However, what's that saying about rest and being wicked? I'm going to wait till tomorrow, but I'm afraid it's just going to be a bill and pneumonia. Get to feeling better...

In other news Acorn-o'lanterns!!!!!

I hope you'll get better soon! Maybe I ought to go out for a very short walk in the nearby forest and collect some acorns to do (or at least try to do) the same. Good thing to kill time (and learn some new skills), I'm already running up the walls from sitting inside (that's kind of a local experssion, not sure if that has common use in English :)). Yours are looking great!

Thanks, and running up the walls, bouncing off the walls, it all works!
