I cheated with another...again.

You'll feel a whole lot better--- I promise you--- if you get rid of that trapper by sending it to me.

ASAP.

And then buy another Buck.

I've been a Case and ats-34 fan for quite a few years now. If you must stray, Case is a good place to go.

A trapper with ats-34 is not a bad way to go.. How do you like the Case ats-34 ?
I haven't read enough about it, from people that have actually used it, to see a true opinion or know how they did on the heat treat.

I got embarassed last night as well. Was at brothers and a knife was needed. After a full body search, I had to go to the truck and dig out a little double bladed coleman like the Buck Ecco3.

First thing was that it wasn't nearly as sharp as a new Buck with same steel. Kudos again to Buck. It did touch up real nice with the sharpsmaker's fine rods. I had a old leather sheath for a Case Trapper and its on the belt and I intend to use this one.

One other comment about Case's, the snap is weak. This has been the situation for the couple other Cases that I have. Again Buck win hands down with their better backsprings.

Dang it, I wish CJ and Company would do some premium blades on their slippies. Maybe a little 13C26 should be a option.

I have no idea what you just said Dave:confused::confused:

FWIW, Jason Randall (heir apparent to RMK) tells me there are Randall slip-joints in the pipeline. You didn't hear that from me. If they do slippies half as well as they do their fixed-blades, we could be looking at something really special here. And probably a 10-year wait - ack!

I fell in love again with another. Those premium old school slippies do catch my attention. This is a Schatt & Morgan File & Wire Series English Jack #12. Its 4.5in closed, ATS-34, wormed bone. Nice piece.

Queen makes a nice product. I haven't played with any of the new ones, hows the edge on yours ?

Its not here yet. I will tell you that the Case Trapper in ATS-34 was NOT as sharp as my prem. steel Bucks out the box but it sharpened right up to my satisfaction. I'll let you know when I get it.

The sad thing is I wouldn't be buying any of these slippies if I had an option with Buck.
Bring Back the 701, 703, & 307 in Premium steel I say!!!

With all the different premium versions Buck offers, I would think they would be looking at doing a premium slipjoint. As you and I know, there's definetely a market for them.
Upgraded steel with stag or nice jigged bone scales....
Build em and the slipjoint crowd will soon sniff them out :D

You bet there is a damn good market for them.
Maybe Buck will decide to compete in that market. It seems to me that democraphics favor Buck for premium classic knives. Look at all you Bucksters out there, same folks Cadillac is after and the only college-age girls you're worried with are the one(s) your paying their tuition.

The thought of a stag or classy bone 701 with S30V blades would be like the best Christmas present ever.

I keep looking at that 701...well staring at it.
I don't think it has to be S30V blades to be my dream knife. 154cm would do it for me very nicely. Dave you think you can talk Phil into reblading this one in a premium steel???

Heck, a knife that sweet, I wouldn't even mind havin one in good ol 1095 even though its not considered a super steel...
It would look perrty sweet after it developed a nice patina :D

That is a pretty sweet knife, and I'm not even all that into slippies.

Not so sure about the college girls, though. I'm not dead yet. :D

I'm not dead yet either, but when they call you Sir, it doesn't do much for your confidence :D

Plumberdv for us that are in the dark can you please tell us a story and a good one at that about that good looking knife and sheath. Thanks!
