I entered into a trade agreement with Hickory407 through lengthy emails concerning which knives would make an acceptable trade. According to the agreement I shipped my knives (3) on Sept 13. He stated he would ship out on the 14th ( a Saturday). No communication until the following week when I asked him for a status. He claimed he was unable to make it to the Post Office due to working a lot (96 hours this week) He stated he would overnight it the next day. Now were at almost a week past when I shipped. I asked if he received my knives. He sad Yes and that they are awesome. I asked about my side of this deal. No response that day. Next day he states that he shipped it out on Friday the 20th. That was the last time he responded to my attempts to contact him. He is online browsing Bladeforums as I type this. Kinda irritating. This is the first time I've had an issue with a trade. I know, Live and learn. And yes before you all yell at me I know he has no feedback, but I was talking to him frequently via emails and I'm a trusting soul (was). I shipped usps with tracking and delivery confirmation so I have proof the knives made it there as well as his email stating how awesome they are. I am currently going the legal route with my local Sheriff's Office. I have kept records of everything so far. Our email exchange includes photos with his IRL name on the titles. He even posted pics of his new Spyderco on photobucket (hint, it's my Spyderco). A little bit easy googling leads to his identity/address/facebook/work website/etc.

Here's my Spyderco on his desk...http://s553.photobucket.com/user/illz302/media/Knives/20130917_150439.jpg.html?filters[user]=85355379&filters[recent]=1&filters[publicOnly]=1&sort=1&o=1

Here's the original thread...http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...E-Trade-for-Benchmade-Inifdel-mini-or-regular!

I just sent him a threatening email 20 minutes ago informing him of my intent to take legal action. No response. Sigh.

I just did right now. But he I don't expect him to respond to this email either since he's ignored the last six.

It true man. I work my ass off for my 3 kids to have xboxes and nikes. I work outside everyday to keep my little company chugging along. My wife is on call every other weekend at the hospital to pay the frickin ginormous Publix bill every 2 weeks and then you hook up with shit like this. On his facebook page his interests are muddin and cash. He's 30 and lives at his mom's house according to Zillow. (that's where I shipped my 3 knives) Grrrrrrrrr. Sorry. I'm fired up. I'll stop now.

Seems he found out about the thread or the mods poked him. He just sent me a pic of a usps 2-3 day shipping for my city. He said that the original box was returned to sender for unknown reasons and he found the box at his house after returning from a business trip. I expressed to him that all I wanted was some communication. I've actually been very civil and understanding to him. So this will be the end of my ranting over this. I do want to say That I've met some really cool people on BF and I won't let one hiccup ruin it for me. I will be more careful in paying attention to feedback scores before entering into any agreements though. Thanks BF !!

??? from all the other threads on here of people getting robbed the same thing happened.....oh box got returned for no reason......fake shipping #.......sends box to you with a pen in it.......Best of luck. Hope he's telling the truth.

Now he's emailing me a bunch. I told him if I receive the knife (even 2 and a half weeks late) then we're square. I will institute the trading system that I've run across with trading higher end knives where the lowest feedback score always ships first no questions asked. It adds a bit of time but seems to be the best and fairest way to do this. Again BF has been awesome to me and I won't let one screwy trade make me heart the rest of you guys less. Looks like I will get the box on Saturday since were in the same state. I'll post here when I get it for closure. Hey I'm happy this section of the forum did exactly what it was supposed to. Let me bring attention to an issue and resolve it. I do wonder if he was contacted by a mod though or if just seeing this thread made the difference. Then should I let the thread die or close it ? And what do I rate this on I-trader. One one hand I was beyond pissed and I felt strung along to the point of borderline scamming. But if he delivers the actual knife this time and he apologized (with excuses that could indeed be true )I don't want his first trader rating to be negative. So if the knife comes as promised maybe a neutral with a clear short description issues ? Or am I now being too nice ?

bull shoot. I would give him a neg. he might try it again with some one else. he has a neg and they see it. it will help them out to see if they want to go with it.

Thanks Scotchleaf. He provided a tracking number so if there is a knife in the box on Saturday then i'm cool. He's in the Orlando area BTW. Then I'll just leave feedback and move on. I had to send your friend request. A lawyer who loves knives? Yeah. I want to be friends with you. :-)

I think you should warn the rest of us with your rating. The comment can say that he came through after he was exposed.

Negative feedback for sure. I think a lot of sellers rely heavily on positive feedback. They go out of their way to make sure items are packaged correctly and shipped on time and if something comes up, they at least communicate the issue with the person on the other end.

Why would you leave positive feedback if you feel that your trade wasn't handled in a positive way?

I wouldn't be concerned with blemishing his feedback score. He wasn't worried about it, why should you?

If I were in your shoes and I left positive feedback and he pulled the same thing again, I'd feel a tad bit responsible. Just a tad. Just my two cents.
