I don't like the new production protocol.

Be gentle I am just a rookie.
I thought this would qualify me to make a post here every now and then:

The Pig, if I am not mistaken,
Gives us ham and pork and Bacon.
Let others think his heart is big,
I think it stupid of the Pig.

AAHHH, so you g both ways? Nice HOGster. I see she's well loved:thumbup:

I like the protocol just fine. It allows for new and fantastic models to be made available. If I had a huge amount of money to burn I might not, but as it is, I will have to wait a couple years for an AK47 and I am ok with that. It isnt like I dont have plenty of badass knives to use in the meantime. I have patience to spare.

Well, i for one would prefer a few models available year round. I don't think it's too far off to say BM SH BA or something along those lines be around to order as they will always sell well. The meat and potatoes of the line should be available, then every few months, there would be somethink special, a special offer/knife that is one run and done. Specialty models every few months is nice, but quite a number of people just want the basics, give us a steel heart available all the time. Of course i understand there might be delays (i think we all know delay and busse go hand in hand by now) :D but make them available please. The new protocol isn't working even close to what it was supposed to, and it's frustrating. I only buy through the secondary market now because i don't feel like chasing the carrot on a stick.

I'm not jumping ship, but seems to me if ford stopped building trucks and said for the next 3 months we are building only the focus, people would be unhappy.

:(

Except for the people buying the Focus. :D

Just stating that most of fords sales are in their truck line, focus is a specialty vehicle and though they sell, it's not where the lions share of their money is made. Nothing against them, if you need fuel mileage and cheap transportation, they are where it's at.

“Rats, go back to your holes. Out of here”
Where do you think Hogs come from?

They’re Rats who have turned into piglets, who then gorge themselves at the trough.

The Rat DNA is here forever, so embrace the straight tail—it’s behind almost all of us.

Yowza!!!

Where's the love????. . . . .

All AK-47s have shipped within 6 weeks of being pulled from the website. . . . .That's pretty good. . . no?

Bottom line is Skunk is selling too much stuff at the company store!!!:grumpy: I would like to see the company store become the place where you can always get any Busse blade at any time. It needs to be the place where Busse's are always in stock. I can assure you that this is never going to happen until Skunk stops selling them as fast as he gets them in. . . .. and in reality Skunk isn't the one who is the at the root of the problem. . . . I think we all know who is actually messing up the entire deal. . . .Yep, that's right . . I BLAME PORKERSON!!!!

im pretty sure that if i had placed an order in late 2003 for a fusion battle mistress (and the high ordinance grade may not have been an option if a standard line was in place), and there was indeed a standard line in place,

i'd still be waiting. cause thats how it was when there was a standard line in place. maybe i would have felt better if i had a peice of paper saying my order was in place during the past 2 years, maybe i wouldnt have. (edit to add - im stating this off of a few threads i read on the subject, but i will have to go back and start reading again to make sure)

i say this to stress the point that busse combat may have put this production protocall into place because they needed to change they way the did their line because it wasnt working for them as a company, as apposed to it simply being a way to please/benefit the customers. (though cutting the wait times in half (or better) is certainly in the customers interest)

(again, this is just me talking (and i could certainly be totally wrong))

Believe me, it's not hard for any Busse fanatic to agree with any post here. But at some point the idea of "tough love" has to come into play.

So you all are saying that the current production protocol is the best possible system?

All of you Busse fans think that it is fine that the BM has not been available for a few years now?

Like I said, my knife money has gone elsewhere recently.....reluctantly.

heres a scenario that may help to explain why the fbm hasnt come out yet *or rather, a possible reason*

say busse combat is capable of making 20,000 blades a month (this is a totally arbitrary number - please do not take it in an literal sense. i have no idea what busse makes or is capable of making)
this 20,000 blades a month is okay for 2 or 3 models, because each model gets about 10,000 orders in that months time. this is all the company can handle.

the fusion battle mistress, wich *lets say* has the highest draw of any of the knives in the new line, will however bring in 60,000 orders. without first setting up the shop to handle that kind of overtime capacity - the production schedule would be shut down for 3 months just to keep up with the battle mistress orders. and thats if its only kept up for 6 weeks. if its kept up longer, the number of orders goes up with it.

given that scenario - you have a choice of

1 - there is a set of main line knives available SO iether having your "main line" knife orders wait for a rediculous amount of time in order to get the battlemistress's out in a decently punctual fashion, or have everything start shipping out later because of the production line drain caused by the bm's backlog

2 - the production schedule is as is, but busse rushes to get the battlemistress up without first setting up the shop to handle the massive amout of orders first SO you get your battle mistress order in, but have to wait a year and a half to get it, plus the rest of the line will be delayed because of the shop having to constantly be working on the backlog of orders

3 - the production shedule is as is, and busse releases knives that will *probably* sell moderately well compared to the battle mistress and not over run the shop with excess orders so that they can both test the limits of their production (and test new technology like the cnc beveling) in order to properly prepare for the battlemistress SO when you do order it it comes within 4 months time.

in all three situations you have to wait a year+ for your battle mistress, but in the first 2 busse combat gets screwed by overwhealming production expectations. it may not be the best production situation for me as a customer - but i would rather have busse combat do what they need to do to run smoothly (or at all) then to try to force them into trying to give me what i want NOW and have their bussiness suffer for it (and i dont just mean bussiness as in sales - i also mean the employee's).

I think that Busse knives should only be sold to US HOGs on this and the other hog forum and that is all.

Then we will have no production problems.

besides I keep on getting BM's left and right. What's the problem?

Did I mention I sliced my finger on the BM-TerrorMonkey that Seth sent me. He had that thing way to sharp. Not sure how he sharpened it, but I could litterally shave my beard with it a-la Dundee. He mentioned using it to scrape off dingleberry's or something like that. I'm not even sure I wanna know what the Basic 9 he got from me is doing right now:eek:

I hope that didn't come off as too much of a rant, but you guys know what I'm sayin'. :foot:

I guess I just REALLY want a FBM!
