I don't like the new production protocol.

Ok. I've sat and watched this with and wasn't going to add my .02 in but I just gotta. Before going on though and creating the impression that I never had any problems with the way things sometimes happen, do a search under the threads I've started and go to the one from a few years ago titled Enough and Goodbye or some such crap;)
Several things come to mind.
1) It's Jerry's company and Jerry will run it how he see's fit and will do the absolute best he can to maintain the quality, cost and time balance.
2) As has been stated, if you don't like the way it's balanced, then there are other makers out there who will give you their version of that equation but I'll bet they will fail in one of those areas.
3) Exclusive club? Yeah, if you own even 1 Busse you're in:D If you're talking about on the forums, you can either choose to particpate or not. You can tell from my post #'s that I don't choose to post much but I still feel a part of this forum.
4) The 2 year wait for the FBM has been long but the finished product will be worth it. I told myself in 1981, when I went through the 2d ever SERE instructors course at Ft. Bragg run by the late Col James Rowe, that I would buy the best tool/ knife I could afford. There was alot of real world testing before I settled on Busse some years ago. I'll wait as long as I need to for the best tool PERIOD.
Ok rant off.

BTW, Matteo did you ever get your orange handled Busse?;) Just had to do it:D

Hogs,

I'd like to propose a new production schedule for Busse...

1) all knife models will be available 24/7/365
2) deep discounts to anyone who already owns even a single sliver of INFI
3) half off all custom work - regardless of value - if you mail Jerry a case of beer

However, if Jerry does not find this amenable, I leave it up to him to decide how best to run his commercial shop, bearing in mind the heavy (and immediate) military demand for his products.

Although I would like my FBM sooner rather than later, like all great things, it will be worth the wait. As long as we get them before the apocolypse. Now... If I have to start killing zombies without one, Jerry and I will have an issue! :D

No, but I still think it's an excellent idea!

Guy's, I'm not trying to tell Jerry how to run his company, clearly he's doing a good job on his own. I'm just expressing my opinion, which is that it would be nice to have a few cornerstone models available for order.

And when I said that knife money was going elsewhere lately, it's not because I'm boycotting Busse! It's because the limited offerings lately have not suited my needs.

Believe me, I'm a #1 Busse fan and I love all you guys! (In a strictly non-homo way).

I like the new system, as well as the company store.I missed out on the SJ-tac and was able to pick it up from Mr. Skunk.

I very much like the current production protocol and I am one of the most impatient people I know. :D I am also especially grateful for the company store as well.

I think part of what gives our Busse knives resale vaue is the fact that the market isn't flooded with all of their offerings every day of the week. If you buy a particular knife and want to sell it, it goes. Sure, there are some models I would like right now, but because of the demand and secondary market, when something does comes up that I want, I know that I can sell something I already have if needed because there is a demand. Again, if the market was flooded, we wouldnt have this luxury.

In addition to the quality of Busse knives, I appreciate the fact that my collection is something that can't be bought somewhere in just a day because someone has the money.
