I EDC a half pound knife

Well I have no problem carrying my Buck 110 on my belt ( 7oz I believe ) plus my leatherman Fuse that's on my belt everyday, plus a small slipjoint in my pocket, plus a solid brass belt buckle, plus a pouch on my belt with a flashlight 4" adjustable wrench and some other junk in it.

I'll bet I've got 4lb or so worth of stuff on me on a daily basis , so if they were legal to carry here I don't think I'd notice an extra ounce or two.

I definitely like a nice lightweight knife in my pocket, but a heavy one that ride comfortably on my belt doesn't bother me one bit.

The point is, if you like it and can carry it comfortably then it doesn't matter if it's lightweight.
Btw a good leather belt will keep your pants up no problem.

It's a heavy loadout, but it keeps my glutes tighter than a frozen Christmas ham.

Make it heavier! Add a streamlight, or a surefire, or a Bayonet!

You gotta be committed to EDC a Bali, no way to open without causing attention I think. I wouldn't carry one even if they were legal, but I have no problem with heavy knives, I carry a set of allen keys, a small pipe wrench, screw driver and a set of ~15 something keys already, a 5, 10, 15 oz knife makes no difference.

I regularly carry a 5lb knife in the woods and make pretty much the same joke.

If i cant chop thru it, ill smash thru it

I’m curious what knife weighs 5lbs? A 24” kukri? I hope you carry it on a sling across the back rather than on the belt at least.

Its a Mukti, its about 3/8ths thick most the way. I put it on my belt too, its not bad at all really. Noticable but ive had a 6lb sledge in my bags for years on construction sites

Chow Yun Fat? Is that you?

Yeah, the first mukti I looked up weighed closer to 8lbs, so I guess 5lbs isn’t that bad. I have no idea how much my folders weigh—such as the plain Ti military or the zt0562cf, which are probably among the heaviest I edc in the pocket. Heavier knives go in a pouch on the belt, and my leatherman outweighs them even.

Gun and knife is cool. I also enjoy hats. The one in the photo looks like a Tilley hat. I have one that looks like that. I own several of them.

BTW, the heaviest set up I carry practically everyday is a multi tool and a large folder like my Buck 110. Both are carried in separate belt sheaths.

There is always the aluminum 110 for the 110lb guys. If old grandpa can still manage to pack a 110 then I'm sure others can. Lol

Weight is only a concern when it bothers you / aka "you're packing too much". I prefer lightweight nowadays because I have no trees to chop down on a day to day schedule. When I lived out in the woods, I was happy to belt carry a big machete or an axe, because it came in handy every ten minutes. Weight was no concern, at all. Different situations, different strokes... Why you would carry a 0.5 pound balisong, however, leaves me slightly wondering...

It is a Tilley hat! It's the Wanderer. They make the best hats, eh?

If you're going "hat", go bold. Get a Texas turbo wings ten gallons hat. Not suited for my country side, but I could go with a Amish broad brimmed hat for sure : sheds off sun and thunderstorms, just what I need. I would be happy with a wide sombrero, too. As long as I don't meet any hikers, that is.

So what? I edc a full size glock 21 and 2 mags for it, next to a 8oz ZT, flashlight, and 3lb chainmaille belt.

Is this some kind of contest?

Are we cool because leadpants?

Do you think you're special?
