I EDC a half pound knife

It's funny, isn't it ? I liked my lead pants back in the days because I needeed them somehow, but I sure don't want any of this nowadays, for sure. Cool factor could be some kind of newfangled stuff today.

That's a knife you want in your big pants... But I'm happy with the Sunfish, going modest, sort of...

Far. I used to get pulled off of job sites regularly just to throw truss blocks to guys setting trusses. They always said I was a pitcher not a catcher. A baseball in my hands could be a lethal weapon. I can probably throw 80-90 mph.

80-90 isn't that big of a gap while driving on the interstate, yet that is a huge difference when throwing a baseball. If you don't know if it's 80 or 90, then chances are pretty good that you don't throw as hard as you think. May want to get out and do some long toss to get that arm strength up.

My carry knives cannot weigh more than 5 ounces.
My carry guns? Smith snubs or Glock 43

I'm sorry, but carrying a butterfly knife as an "EDC" is just douchebaggery of the highest order.

I'm frequently carrying a 6-8 oz knife. I don't notice it unless I'm wearing gym shorts.

Wait what? How the hell do you suppose that? There's nothing wrong with carrying a balisong.

I agree I have nothing against someone carrying a balisong (assuming it's legal where you are). But using it as an EDC knife is sort of laughable. Depending on where you work/live, it may be a bit different, but flipping open a balisong (not to mention a huge 8 oz. balisong) to open a package, cut cardboard/foam, etc. seems patently ridiculous. You also have to remember that you are not the center of the universe. The fact is, many people will be afraid if someone flips open a balisong in front of them. I personally don't have a problem with it, but that's the way it is.

If someone carries a balisong for self-defense where it is legal, I have absolutely no problem with that. That is what they are designed for. But as an EDC? No way. There are so many better EDC options than a balisong.

Balisongs can be opened without flipping the knife through the air and yelling hiiiiyaaaa. Plenty of sizes of balisongs ranging from small to large. Your statement about bali's is ignorant and your opinion.

Flipping isn't the only way to open a balisong. It's quite easy to open them discretely.

Edit: And that's why you always read new posts.:D

If it is legal and you are responsible with it, who gives a crap what other people think. I sure don't.
