I forgot my knife at home.

This is the reason why I have two as back ups in my truck...a BM Spec War 975 and a BM 583-1 Warn D2 Barrage.

Bingo, at least for work, in my van,I keep at least 1 knife, and sometimes 1 in my cooler I take everyday.

I keep plentiful spare knives with me. If I somehow forget a knife, another jumps in, glad to have a chance to ride around with me for a day.

I have had this issue in the past and still do on somedays, but mostly when I am somewhere that I am not suppose to have one, but usually one is close by such as my car.

Yep, I always keep a back up. Nothing fancy, a Sog Flash I or a Tenacious in my lunch bag just in case. If I'm not at work, I keep a Leatherman in my EDC bag.

Why just today I was consolling a guy who lost his orange Spyderco Delica 4 that his Son recently bought him, poor guy...........

For those saying keep an extra in your car, be careful with that. I had my car broken into and a Delica and PM2 brown sprint stolen. I've had my window smashed twice so I don't keep much valuables in my car. I keep a small Gerber on my keys and it definitely comes in handy!

Mine are both kept out of sight (out of mind) and my truck is rarely more than 25 yds from me. It has a significant alarm on it and even if those things are stolen...insurance will cover them. (albeit both are getting harder and more expensive to replace)

Yeah, after years of having one on me I would feel uncomfortable without it. I'm one of those guy's who always feel he has to be prepared for something bad to happen...cutting seatbelts or scarves caught in escalators choking people to death and such. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

I keep an Opinel 10 in the glovebox. But I feel you. Once I skipped class and walked home to grab my PM. I think I'm borderline psycho with this stuff.

Condom and gun principle: Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I ran out of the house this morning and forgot my knife. I feel naked with out it! I've reached into my pocket three or four times for it today and then suddenly felt helpless and alone.

Anyone else have this issue?

(i have a fixed blade in my bag if i REALLY need a knife)

I've done that a few times. When I am about half way to work running late I reach down and realize, no knife. It's happened so much that I've started keeping a Leatherman Wave in the glove box just in case.

This is how I make sure I never leave home without a knife. I can reach it easily with my left arm (main folders are in my front and back right pockets). There's also a leatherman wingman inside the bag.

Now I'm seriously considering getting a warcraft tanto and fastening it to the bag...

I forgot my pen and my edc today also. gonna throw one in my truck so this wont happen again!

I had an esee 3 and a leatherman wave in my bag, and a SAK Cadet on my car keys, but i don't keep those in my pocket. I like having a blade in my pocket.

Typically I keep a Dragonfly 2 (looking for something that fills the hand a smidge more) in my right front, and a large knife in the same pocket, or in my right back pocket. But I'm not sure how my new boss will feel about my Military or SMF, so the large knives stay at home or in the bag during working hours.

I came straight home after work and found the dragonfly. It wasn't where i normally keep it, which is why I forgot it.

Phew! What a day!

I'm with you on that one, between the Military and Nursing school, I was doomed. Senior RN's who are in charge of training you can be as tough on you as a Drill instructor, mostly without all the swearing.

Oh, I was looking for knives on Amazon today. But they don't have same day delivery, yet.

I'm a part of the crew that works in an office setting and can go a whole day without needing to cut something. However, like magic on the rare occasions I leave my knife at home, that's the day I need it repeatedly.

Also

Opinels. Spare in vehicle, spare at work, spare in bag....

+1 to this. Opinels are exceptional knives for the price point and would fill a great role by being a spare left in various common areas.

I feel naked when I leave my knife at home because I like to touch it and play with it in my pocket all the time. Haha... Seriously though. :)

I ran out of the house one time to go do a meaningless errand, and I forgot a knife as i left. I had a panic attack and when I calmed down I laughed so hard at myself for getting worked up like I did.

Good times

I don't know whats worse, forgetting to wear a belt or not have my folder in my left pocket.
Neither scenario makes for a pleasant day.
I have two different knives in my tool bag, but when I reach into my pocket I want that particular knife for a certain task.
