I forgot my knife at home.

Is that sheath for the SAK? Great way to carry it if so, the scales on that model pop off all the time!

I made that sheath for the classic out of a piece of scrap leather I had. Wet molded it to the knife. It does save the knife from a great deal of banging from the keys, as well as keeping the knife very available by just pulling it out of the sheath. Nothing to unhook or grapple with.

I've got enough redundancy from other tools that it really wouldn't matter that much from an actual "need to cut something" perspective. What would worry, me, though, is the thought that perhaps I had lost it.

Now you'll start keeping a backup in your car!
Don't see why not. Unless you only own a single knife, I see no reason not to leave one in your car, either as a spare or specifically for automotive quick-fix repairs. I leave a Leatherman multitool in my car console.

It turned out nicely. I'm a little sad to know it's custom though, I wanted one for myself! :D

I have a backup on both my cars. A Tenacious and a Chill. This eliminates the problem pretty much. If you have "retired" users/beaters in your collection, throw it in your glove box.

I am 50 years old, since I was 10 years I have had a knife in my pocket and the few times I have forgotten them, I have felt naked. In Denmark, where I live is knife law very strict and it is a challenge. My knives are like my little children, I love them. I have often thought of to be so dependent on my knives are weird, most people do fine without knives in their pocket.

Haha, he said forget a knife. That's rich. Oh, you're not kidding? I'm more likely to forget my shoes in the middle of winter.

I almost hate traveling to a place that I have to fly to for that exact reason. When I don't have a knife on me I just don't feel right

I ran out of the house this morning and forgot my knife. I feel naked with out it! I've reached into my pocket three or four times for it today and then suddenly felt helpless and alone.

Anyone else have this issue?

(i have a fixed blade in my bag if i REALLY need a knife)

That is why I have an Opinel #8 in every bag I own and an Opinel #6 in every coat/jacket ;)
Problem solved for less than $200 :D

I will never forget if I can help it.
Knife first. Then wallet, keys and phone.
I always do the "spectacles, testicles, wallet and knife" check.

One time, I forgot my main knife more than once, but remedied that by putting a Spyderco H1 FS Ladybug on my keychain, just in case, I became "knifeless".
