I got my March 2011 Buck Newsletter

He was kind enough to set me up with a special price on a 532 via paypal(S30V blade steel and canvas micarta scales)! How did I miss this the first time around.

I really like mine as well . I thought you would too . Glad you got one . DM[/QUOTE]

Flatlander makes the connection that viperbruce is, well, BCCI members probably already know who he is after reading the first page of the current newsletter if not before. It took me a little research to figure it out. BCCI is still somewhat of a mystery to me as my membership hasn't aged one year yet. I hope to become a life member @ OKCA this Spring in person. It is strange for me reading my words as I don't join anything (particularly a group that would have me as a member). I feel charmed by my association here, with Buck and with BCCI.

Sometimes I need to be hit on the head by an anvil in order to pay attention. Seeing the Heritage knives on ebay, accidentally stumbled upon them, was such a rude awakening. I can't expect a buzzer to go off when its time to take note. Those who hesitate are, well, you already know. Many thanks to our terrific fellow member Bruce for pulling this one out the hat for me.

I seem to vaguely recall seeing somewhere that the "Limited Edition" terminology was to be replaced by "Legacy Collection." Does that ring a bell for anyone else??

Hi TS,

I do think you are correct. I like to keep the old catalogs around for later use. The flyers tend to come apart in time and would serve the collectors better to have the info in the catalog.

I missed out on the 110 drop point knives the club offered in 2004 . Then Flatlander helped me with one in 2009 . So, some of us miss then make it in the back door just in time for supper . DM

Here is the knife I gave DM. NS, Aboyna Burl, S30V DP.
I did the handles on this one and I think it turned out pretty good. It's still a hobbist hack job. It was very pleasing to me that David really liked it. I don't think I've rehandled a knife in 2 years. Hhummmhhh!

Just for your FYI, the newsletter/catalogs have reached the center of the country. You end-of-the-roads guys should be seeing yours soon.

Ima, That was a Sept. Buck and normal condition for here . Thanks Flatlander !
Newsletter ? I still don't have mine . This has ... ole well . DM

Well, I should have said the end-of-the-roaders and David Martin also....oh wait a minute, end of the road counts for him too........end of the road and top of the mountain.
Lots of folks get to have bears in their yards but very few have mountain lions.......but I know for a fact he sees it as a double edged sword, since he has livestock...........just like 90% of us, want the adventure of wild things, without hurting our herd.

Here in PA, I'd say 99% are done by end of August or very early Sept. Whataya do with a rack in velvet? Thats a bute, I'd hate to give it to the porcupines.

My catalog came today and they have a 2011 Legacy Collection supplement of LEs, not just the B&Cs. I like the Damascus Paul Bos Paradigm. A stacked leather woodsman. Lots of interesting things, I think.

Hi WD,

I just got a look at the catalog and the Legacy flyer as well. Now that I have seen the catalog in my hand....as I just got to see it today for the first time:eek:. There are a few of the legacy knives I like....darn now I have to come up with some cash to feed the Buck fever beast;).

Also as a side note,
I was looking at the BCCI news letter and Joe H has the SO/LE list from last year. It shows that cablea's ordered 250 119's in the AG version with S30V. I want one.....I was a the Reno Nevada Cableas yesterday and did not see one and there is none listed in any of their catalogs? Anyone see one of these...ever?

My newsletter came last Saturday. As for ViperBruce, he is a great eBayer as well as BCCI member. I bought my 500 through him.

Ima, The taxidermist will use heaters w/ blowers to slowly dry them out . Or strip it off, dry out the bone then put a artificial velvet on . Which looks as good as the natural .
They were able to keep mine the natural velvet . Stelth, I can recall the year Jack O'Conner past and a year later the Duke . Two huge figures in their own right . DM
