I had a bad accident/almost died/please read

Incredible about how much this forum feels like family. Glad to hear hear you made it through. We were just talking to another (forum) family member who severed tendons in his hand from a buffer accident. Small compared to yours, but the same "moment of inattention" lesson.

Next truck gets better tires, air bags (though they may not have deployed here) and a REALLY ANNOYING SEATBELT BUZZER. :D

Heal well my friend.

Rob!

Glad you are ok.Prayers sent.Just use this as a learning experience.Be a little more careful driving and remember everything that is really important in life.

Glad you are OK.

I used to have a rule that I wouldn't start the car until everyone was seatbelted in. I had been letting it slip a little - no more!

Thanks for the warning,

Wow Marekz, what a wakeup call. I'm glad you're alright, and I pray for your quick recovery.

take it slow Marke , real slow . Now listen , the first thing I was asked last year with a detached retina in my left eye was ,had I recently suffered a head trama ? No heavy lifting , do nothing for awhile that cause you to strain . Hope you heal fast and enjoy the meds.

Have your eye checked as soon as possible.
Sounds like a torn retina, which can be fixed.

I had one due to a blow to the head and let it go.

Having just one sucks.

Marekz. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Life can change in a blink of an eye. Glad to hear you are ok. John

Marek,

Must be good Karma ! That you came through in the shape you did. I've been through a few serious accidents with enough luck not to be seriously injured (youth gone wild kinda stuff).

I always say that I've burned up my 9 lives in vehicles and drive very cautiously these days.

Prayers for a full and speedy recovery friend !!!!

-Josh

Glad you are still with us. From the sounds of how you ended up in your truck you are lucky to still have all your limbs and head still. I hope you have a quick recovery.

From experience do not just dismiss a head injury, had a friend who thumped his head pretty hard, was released as ok from the hospital, was dead a week later. He felt fine he claimed, but the swelling in his head put extra pressure on a blood vessel and made a part of it weak, it ended up bursting and he bled to death. Don't want to try and scare you or anything, but ever since that happened I always warn people of what can happen. You start feeling off, get your butt back to the doc's.

take care
Ronnie

Da-yum, you are one lucky dude !!!

I hope that's not your shootin eye ;)

:o

Extremely lucky to be alive! you are also lucky to have at least one eye and both hands! You can still make knives with one leg but losing one or both hands that would make extremely difficult! you would have to hook up with that guy that makes knives with one prosthetic arm.

Take it easy and heal quick, but don't push it cause you might feel upset at yourself

You will be in my thoughts

Glad you made it out alive:thumbup: Good luck on the recovery, smoke and prayers sent!

Sounds like you ruined a perfectly good truck!

Seriously though - I'm glad you made it out. Take it easy and heal up.

Woe...
Sorry to hear about your accident.
Hard to say you're lucky, but really you are, considering.
I was waiting to see an admonition that we all learn from your experience and wear seat belts no matter how benign and brief the drive.
I guess you figure we should be able to figure it out for ourselves?
I wish!

Take care,
Heal well.
Take those meds!
