Seriously. I made one trip into the traditional forum and it cost me big time.

Until then I owned precisely 3 traditionals. 2 Old Timers, one from each of my Grandfathers and a Gerber that was given to me by my paternal grandfather when I was 5.

After my excursion into your land I ponied up on a Kershaw Wild Turkey Damascus that I'd admittedly been casually seeking for a while.

Now, I've spent the last week pouring over the GEC catalog trying to figure out what to buy next. I've decided on a #72... In every blade style and almost every handle material. (I should probably narrow that down to 2 or 3.) Maybe a #47... And a #64... Or #65... Perhaps an 85 too.

And then there are the customs. I really hate you people.

Welcome aboard. Good thing for you GEC is generally a short run company.... and they may not exactly repeat a pattern with the exact same covers, blades, nicks, bolsters combinations for a while if at all. So, it will pace your spending a little...... but then again, they keep coming with new combos and patterns to keep up with every few weeks.... so, maybe it won't pace well for you. Welcome to being broke bud!

Glad we could be of service!

Seriously, there are much worse things you could be spending your money on...welcome to the dark side. Muuuwwwhhhaaaaa! :p

Tell her it leaves less money for booze and carousing around.:D

BTW (for your eyes only)......There are lots of knife clubs where the guys get together, drink and carouse around, look one up!:o

Do not look up the Northwoods line.

Well, gosh - "hate" is a very strong word, dontcha think?

I'm sure that once you have at least a dozen traditionals in your collection this anger will fade away. They tend to have a calming effect. :D

You can still participate without spending a lot of money. Some of my favorite knives were in the $20 to $40 range. Here are a few:

Victorinox Alox Electrician:

Case Peanut:

Two of my top favorites - Case Small Texas Jack and Victorinox Alox Cadet:
